  1. i have a question...i have dual boot mandriva 2008 and xp media center on my laptop...ok well two questions....

one, my cpu is 1.8GHz amd sempron but it only reads as 800MHz....

and 2, i am pretty sure i have the water effects, wobbly windows, etc, enabled but i cant get compiz fusion to actually work...hwo do i use the effects...

It is a driver in linux and it is also in windows called Cool'N Quiet which is a reduction in both clock frequency and voltage at idle. saves alot of power.

  2. Can anyone help me im not getting my full 10 gig speed.

I think level 3 backbone is the best  they seem to have the fastest networks and the best bgp management  i just wish i had oc fiber in my house but who doesn't  want that. Also it seems like qwest has high latency  so maybe there not the best but there so many backbone isp that take to long to  test them all

  6. It isn't testing to see if the battery works in that it provides power.  It IS testing to see if the battery is working in the sense that it is noticing the hard drive.  This will reset any changes or mishaps that have happened to it.

well if whatever you said works then more power to you but i have no clue of why the battery would have any sense of noticing the hard drive ..... your going to have to show me how this works
  7. You know what Hctim, you are acting very immature. You don't know how to take in what you read correctly. I've viewed the majority of the posts that you've made on this site, and you've either been disrespectful or unhelpful.

You're getting off to a bad start pretty quickly, and will be noticed in a bad way soon. I would appreciate it if you would stop spamming this thread. Nobody wants to argue with you dude. If you feel safe, think that are safe, or know that you are, good for you man.

I'd just rather get my thread back on topic.

    I'm done with it.

lol  iight man but you started to bs with me and you quite thats cool  i was just saying what i thought and then you trying to say i dont know what im talking about which you still are but im done if your done .
  8. Whoa, what a crazy kid.  I think having some sort of virus protection is better than having none?  I mean, what's the point of not having any, it isn't like it uses soooooo many resources.  Especially not for someone who obviously has a BaDaSszzszzzz computer.  And do you give credit to testmy for that test your bandwidth thing on your site?  Just wondering.

oh man all i said why i dont use a virus program and you guys get all up tight. That testmy.net thing hell yeah i tell all my friends about testmy.net they wknow it is from testmy.net ...........  lol man
  9. Viewing all your connections has nothing to do with a virus infecting your system. Without some type of anti-virus software, you are vulnerable to attacks hands down. Where do you get your critical analysis of fundamental assumptions or beliefs?  :haha:

Trust me dude, I pull my weight around here. I don't just post to argue over the internet. I try to enlighten people with every post and share information with others users. It's obvious that you are the type that thinks you know everything, so more power to you.

Vulnerable how ???  first how would a virus get  on my system??? I think of a way going to dip shit sites and downloading exe that have virus  .... hmmm well how are they going to connect to my computer to *hack me*???? or what ever you think a virus does . If a virus gets on my system what is it going to do crash it hmm never had that happen so what  is this virus going  to do if theres nothing happening.... like wow no connections made to any sources of ip to send my info or NO connections that would connect and send my *so called credit card info or whatever*.... so think about it if it doesn't crash my system and no connections being made then who cares . good hacker are  going to get in, they will make there own back door  so no bull shit virus scanner is going to find that.

Also man you said i think im a *big shot* lol look at you

pull my weight around here. I don't just post to argue over the internet.
      lol man
  10. edit///

It isn't testing the battery, if the battery didn't work, the computer wouldn't get to the part where it says "no operating system on any device."  Sometimes the bios just "forgets what it's doingg, and this resets it.

    The guy said
That would actually test his CMOS battery to see if it's the cause of him receiving that message
  11. That would actually test his CMOS battery to see if it's the cause of him receiving that message. The CMOS battery plays one of the biggest roles of your system even starting up. Without it, your system's bios would not hold any settings, thus, causing you to get several messages that you would not get otherwise. What's more is that he will also be clearing his that way also.

You will need to enter the bios and set everything back up when your done pr0duc3r.

That's just one option for you to try.

By the way, that's not how you flash your bios. :haha:

HE nerver said his computer didn't boot once your pasted your bios the next boot options should be his harddrive so whats  testing the battery going to do
  12. as stupid as this sounds crack the case and pull the battery it is roughly the size of a quarter then try to reload the OS. :!: be sure to puy the battery back in after about 30 seconds and for god sakes unplug the thing.

WTF is that going to do ??????  flash his bios whats thats going to do?... nothing for him if his hard drive went bad
