  1. That probably is the onboard GPU but it isn't actually needed to run sli for that motherboard. If you're worried about the temps I would just disable the onboard GPU. Bascially what it is is a form of tri-sli using onboard gpu as the third video card. I haven't used it but I am assuming it's gonna hog some resources and probably make little difference to actual frame rates and game play. Delete should get you into the Bios to disable it and it should be on the onboard peripherals tab.
  2. You could try to connect a normal monitor to the VGA port on the laptop, that is if you don't want to move it. As for replacement laptop screens that is a special item and it is gonna cost you a rediculous amount of money to replace either way. Good luck with the search though.
  3. All I can say is boo!!!!!! I recieved this e-mail yesterday. Dear Comcast High-Speed Internet Customer, We appreciate your business and strive to provide you with the best online experience possible. One of the ways we do this is through our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The AUP outlines acceptable use of our service as well as steps we take to protect our customers from things that can negatively impact their experience online. This policy has been in place for many years and we update it periodically to keep it current with our customers' use of our service. On October 1, 2008, we will post an updated AUP that will go into effect at that time. In the updated AUP, we clarify that monthly data (or bandwidth) usage of more than 250 Gigabytes (GB) is the specific threshold that defines excessive use of our service. We have an excessive use policy because a fraction of one percent of our customers use such a disproportionate amount of bandwidth every month that they may degrade the online experience of other customers. 250 GB/month is an extremely large amount of bandwidth and it's very likely that your monthly data usage doesn't even come close to that amount. In fact, the threshold is approximately 100 times greater than the typical or median residential customer usage, which is 2 to 3 GB/month. To put it in perspective, to reach 250 GB of data usage in one month a customer would have to do any one of the following: * Send more than 50 million plain text emails (at 5 KB/email); * Download 62,500 songs (at 4 MB/song); or * Download 125 standard definition movies (at 2 GB/movie). And online gamers should know that even the heaviest multi- or single-player gaming activity would not typically come close to this threshold over the course of a month.
  4. Check out www.mountainmods.com and see if one of their UFO cases might be right for you.
  5. Oh yeah check my sig. I usually get about 13 to 18 meg speeds at any given time right now, that was just a uber good day though I have had 30 meg speeds. Don't ya love the speedboost crap.
  6. Make sure you are trying to download the ones for the mobile graphics cards and also for windows vista 32bit. And I would also try toshibas website and see if they have the drivers you need in their download section. The 167.51 is the ones you would get from nvidias website. But I had an old gateway at one time that would only accept drivers released in a gateway driver pack so maybe toshiba is doing that. Also maybe your vista is blocking it.
  7. I see it this way, if we start to use our own oil and have cars that get 50 mpg then we would be able to be dependant on OUR own oil for a much longer time. Am I right about this? Also not only gasoline is produced from these precious fossil fuels, I myself use kerosene for heat in the winter, I filled my tank up with kerosene recently and 200 gallons cost me $970, that is almost $5.00 a gallon for heat. My point is gasolene isn't the only thing being effected by this.
  8. Well I was on the phone the other day trying to figure out how much it wouls cost me to ditch directv and go with comcasts tv service and while I was on the phone with them I asked about their internet just seeing if prices had changed and they said that this year they were going to start 20meg service around the country. wOot I'm on the calling list. Can anyone confirm this and which areas would be recieving it first?

  10. I believe it is Creative Music Source. I have a audigy 4 and just did a fresh install of XP and when I installed my sound drivers I did so from disk and must have installed the creative music source stuff. I'm going to unistall and see how that works.
  11. Could it be iTunes? I disabled a couple of creative add-ons but it still shows the same thing.
  12. I just ran a speed test and the IP listed or browser or something is weird. Can you guys tell me what it is or means? What is all the musicstore stuff and I was using IE 7 for the test. ::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 23016 Kbps about 23.02 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 2810 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 2606 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Upload Speed is:: 318 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2008/01/21 - 6:08am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-3XGQE1JTV U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-MNWXIS78C User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; CMS Music Store2 v1.00.12 (Music Store,1033); CMS Music Store2 v1.00.13 (Music Store,1033); .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30)
  13. You shouldn't need a floppy drive to flash your bios. Unless your talking about flashing your video card bios. The software that came with your motherboard should have a way to flash from windows. Just read the bios area of your instruction manual or search on abit website.
  14. I would have to say both companies make great processors. The question is what are you going to be doing the most of - web surfing, e-mail, listening to music or all of those plus gaming. Intels are racking the numbers in gaming and you won't notice a difference in general PC use between the two. And to be honest in gaming you will probably not notice more than 10 to 20 FPS difference in games and if you have a killer graphics card that can average 80+ fps in all the games you play it won't really matter which way ya go.
