  1. Like I said speedfan is notorious for incorrect readings and the actual software that came with your board is gonna be designed to read for that board so it will be much better and clearly is far more accurate. And bios temp settings is the best way but usually the program that comes with the motherboard is gonna read from the bios anyway and possible with a small variant between the readings. The best type is the ones that read from the core itself unfortuanetly my board doesn't read from the core it reads from a temp sensor placed near the socket so my temps will show lower than the actual temp but only by a few degrees celsius.

  2. Speedfan is notorious for bad temp reporting. Try a temp program from your motherboard manufacturer it should give better results. And if you want even more reliable temp monitoring try a temp probe that goes into a drive bay and has a sensor attached. Just place the sensor on the cover of the cpu clamp thing-a-majig and make sure it does not contact the CPU at all.

  3. I have gotten up to 22136 wOOt!

  4. Tommy what you're gonna have to do is get a KVM switch and a VGA cable made for the xbox-360. A basic KVM switch you should be able to find for 20 bucks and the Xbox adapter cable is gonna run 40 bucks before tax. I just got my X-Box 360 yesterday and spent a good portion of last on the x-box forums to find this stuff out.

  5. I would if at all possible go with a higher grade of motherboard. I know that with asus if you go with a lower tier board the updates in bios are far less frequent then a higher tier board and sometimes you get problems from bios and if there are no updates then you would just have to deal. I will suggest the ASUS P5W DH or one of the p5b boards with the 965 chipset.

  6. Well I just want to state that I went from a 3.2 gig single core to a core 2 duo 6600 and I did see a 40-60 frame per second jump in all my games and more in others. So it's actually what you use your computer for as to whether you can consider it hype or not. I mean if your a IM or e-mail junky then yeah your 2 to 3 gig cpu is going to work great, but if you have other/higher demands from you computer then the dual core cpus are what you want.

  7. Maybe your neighbor has some nasty spyware/trojans on his computer. He may be a tech retard and not understand that his connection is slow. Maybe he thinks a 2 minute load time on his net surfing is normal. Just a suggestion.

  8. Hey I sure hope you can get this figured out. I had this same problem when I had earthlink DSL. Everytime the phone even rang my modem would drop. So they came out and set up a seperate line one for data and one for my phone. After they did that it would only cut out if I used the phone instead of when it was ringing I would have to answer it or press the talk button for it to drop. They never figured it out, so after 11 techs and 3 months I just cancelled the service and went to comcast. I know you may not have the option so I really hope you get it figured out.

  9. Kamikaze if you're having problems with your 624 cutting out try a new power source for it. I know the earlier versions of the router had horrible power sources that were prone to send to much current to the router causing it to overheat and cut out. Just something you may wanna try. I believe versions 1-3 are the worst for this. My brother has a version 4 and it has caused him no grieve whatsoever.

  10. Umm well I don't know what it does but I do know Comcast ran new lines to the pole near my house and to my house itself. And replaced something up there that the line between my house and that pole connects to. Kinda like a big box! But anyway I see you have dsl I shoulda payed more attention. With DSL service I have no idea. I know before I got comcast I had earthlink DSL and everytime I got a phone call it would knock my connection out. And they set up a voice and data box seperately and I still got the problem. They never figured it out so I went to comcast.

  11. I believe I'm supposed to be getting that in a couple of weeks. I cannot wait! Right now this is what I'm getting on the 8meg/76?kb package.

  12. That is definately true but for some reason this mobo doesn't like me or my ram. I just ordered new ram to see if it helps. It probably won't so I'll just go back to my old motherboard. Offer is still up if anyone's interested, it's a LGA-775 Mobo native ddr2-667 mhz. And just so everyone know don't use PQI ram with this board.
