Geez....sometimes I feel like such an idiot! I didnt even know you could open more than one ie browser window at a time! I tried it, and thats JUST what I wanted to do...be able to move between pages without losing the previous page. You gys are the BOMB! I dont know what I would do if I couldnt come on this board and get help with D-way. After having used AOL for years, its taking some getting used to....but I wouldnt go back again, especially since I used all the tips here to get my D-way running at a decent speed (no help from D-Way customer support/Pakistanies) I just LOVE ya'll!!!!!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm79685US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_3_22.gif' alt='Burning Heart' border=0></a>!!!!!!!!!

No...what I am wanting is my AOL! LOL! With AOL, you can open one window after another (one web page after another) without the ones under it closing out until you close them out. I want to do the same thing with my explorer! Lets say I am looking at one page, want to go to another, and then come back to original...I have to type in the web address...look at page...type in new address and LOSE the previous page if I want to go back I have to type it in all over again.... Thanks for your suggestion though!

As an e-aoler, switched to direcway, I HATE the way Internet Explorer works compared to AOL browser. Maybe I just dont know HOW to work it! Can anyone tell me how to get the pages to load "separate" from the main page like AOL does? (In other words you could close a page out without closing down the browser. For instance, with AOL you might have two pages open and working on them at the same time, but with my internet explorer you have to keep hitting the "back" button to move around from page to page. Jewel- I did the setup that the Rev (God bless his heart!) posted--the first post up on the board and it worked! As far as pics, what I am referring to is pics to want to upload to web...you have to first store on FTP server and apparantly that doesn't come with Direcway like it does AOL.

Ok, I did all the tweaks (THANKS REVEREND!) and my download speeds are staying fairly decent now (notice I said fairly decent....I think any other problems are on Direcway end). However, my upload speeds still suck. Anyone know of anything I can do to get some more speed there? I sell on ebay and its hell sitting and waiting for pics to upload! Also.....does D-way have any FTP space for storing pics for upload? I am an X-aoler (can we say SIMPLE here?) and I don't know how I am going to upload my pics without AOL's FTP space????? Where do I put those pics for upload now? In case you haven't figured it out, I am a computer idiot learning as I go.......

Can someone tell me how to use another mail server (Outlook, etc) instead of the crummy, simplistic Dway for mail? Wen I try to use outlook, I get error messages that the dway server terminated the connection

I see where direcway wants BETA Testers? Whats that? Will it help my SPEEDS???????

OH, and one more thing...I will probably be calling to cancel as well! The line is forming and its getting LOOOOONG!

Now understand, I ain't complaining here.....but my speeds that usually run between 250-500 (which Direcway tells me are great speeds) are up to over 1000 this morning! What the hell? It would be nice if they would stay there...but that would be too good to be true! ...and by the way....2 weeks since promise of call back from Engineering Dept....no call back yet, even after several phone calls.

Ok..I finally got this Direcway working better (good, not better...around 500 kbps) but thats ONLY if I sign on through internet explorer.

From what they told me, I will get back the 400.00 for the "equipment" once they receive it back, but I have to eat the 300.00 installation fee...what a rip in the rump! Anyone know of a GOOD satelite provider for us folks in the boonies??????????

Can ANYONE help me out here? I had Direcway6000 installed 14 days ago. Since install, I have had NOTHING but problems! I paid nearly 700.00 for something that runs SLOWER than my AOL dial-up at 26k and I can't get Direcway to do anything but make excuses! Now I know why people go postal! I have spent HOURS on the phone talking to foreigners who don't understand me, nor do I understand them. .. one of them actually got a little testy with me when I had to keep asking him to repeat himself because I couldn't figure out what the hell he was trying to say! What nerve!! Had I known that I was buying into a company who ships their workload overseas to a bunch of half-english speaking jackasses I KNOW I would have NEVER even considered purchasing this piece of junk! Anyway.....they FINALLY they put me through to advanced support and after several phone calls with them, they said they would have ENGINEERING contact me. Well, thats been 5 days ago and STILL no call from them. I would like to take this Direcway and stick it "where the sun don't shine" up any Direcway Exec's behind I could! I have NEVER been so disappointed in my life! I did many of the things listed here on the forum and its STILL no better, if anything its running slower depending on the time of day.
