New user in Honduras

Hi all - new user from within Honduras where my upload AND download speed suck terribly. I'm currently using wireless to the router in the house, which is wired through a device to an antenna on the roof, which is aimed at a receiver about 600 feet away. Not sure where it goes from there. Thinking of switching to the local cable provider. And probably use ethernet to modem as the house is wired for CAT5 in a lot of rooms. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, would love to hear them.
