yeah I thought about getting a pci ethernet card and see what happens. I did by new cat5e cable but I also have cat6 laying around.. hopefully I can get this fixed. but thanks for your help it is greatly appreciated.

ok here are the results with just 10 meg select on ethernet. speed seems to work this time around but I will do a couple do see if its stays around that. I have 10T base and 10T/Full duplex as options do I just select 10T base and of course the 100 meg one too but I just listed the 10 meg selections

using on board ethernet not sure if I got a new ethernet card if that would help just odd since I just can't figure out those pauses but if that latency is high is there any way to fix that or is my latency good

yeah I have tried multiple of things and I think the problem is I get dumb pauses that cause my speed to drop if I didn't get the pauses I would be at 9 to 9.5 meg from my 10 meg connection.

yep that's all it was just wasn't updated yet now it's working but of course it didn't help with my speed problem oh well

just got the Motorola SB 5120 called cable and ISP with the new MAC ID and when I connect the cable line and the other lines it goes through the normal process then when it's done it just flash the power light even but the other lights are all solid green. not sure what the problem is unless cable company hasn't updated with the new Modem Mac ID

the ISP is Prolog www.ptd.net the modem is supposed to be caple of atleast 30 megs but of course I don't have that kinda of speed lol.. what's odd is my ping times avg 31ms so I am good there and uploads are find just my downloads tech guys are coming out to the house again with there laptop to test some things so hopefully they can see if it's the modem or something out.

not sure if I have this in the right spot or not but right now I have a webstar dpc 2100 series cable modem and I am supposed to get 10 meg and 800 upload but I am at about 5-7 meg right now and have been for awhile. I was thinking it was the modem cause I have try changing all settings and to no avail. so the question is would the Motorola 5120 or 5100 be a better modem. thanks for any advice
