  1. Hey! Thanks for the welcoming Yeah I talked to them and they have no idea, they're going to send a tech out here on Monday. Argh, I hate asking for help from a comcast tech.... but maybe he'll know his stuff
  2. Ok, here's the deal. I have Comcast cable and I've been using a splitter for the internet and tv. I've done this for about 7 months and it worked great. Now all of a sudden, I started to get drops and connections wouldn't last more than an hour. So I plugged my cable modem directly into the wall jack and it works fine. But now using a splitter doesn't work anymore.... how can that be? I've tested: I've used the orginal splitter and I know it works because the TV works I bought a Monster 2ghz splitter and it still doesn't work. TV works but my cable modem gets no signal whatsoever. I've changed the cables on all ends. Bottomline, my cable modem just doesn't want to work with a splitter, no matter what. Why would this change all of a sudden when it worked fine for 7 months? THanks guys PS - I have two cable modems to try out any tests (Motorola SB5100 and Toshiba PCX2200)
  3. ahhh.. it seems my motorola modem is about 200-400mbs slower than my toshiba in speed tests
  4. I'm at work now, but I'll check out that link tonight. Where can you download new firmware for the toshiba and motorola?
  5. Hi guys, I'm new here. Here's the deal: I have a Toshiba PCX2200 (DOCSIS 1.0 or 1.1, not sure) and a Motorola SB5100 that does DOCSIS 2.0 Recently, I've been having connection issues with my ISP, the motorola's connection would keep dropping and wouldn't last more than an hour. Very annoying. So I plugged in my old Toshiba pcx2200 and it's running great so far. I would be happy, but I'm not since I bought the motorola as an upgrade awhile back. Any ideas? Does the DOCSIS really matter? Thanks in advance PS - Also, can you upgrade the firmware on any of these modems? Thanks
