  1. thanks for the replies. is there any way around this??? it is not THAT big of a problem, but i did frequently use that feature of AIM to send files to friends and stuff.
  2. i turned firewall off and it still wouldn't work. i'm on apple, which lessens the chance of a virus, and i just came from a dial-up connection that allowed me to send files yesterday! so....i'm thinking it has something to do with the host/port settings, but i'm really not certain.
  3. Hello, We just had the Direcway (or now "HughesNet") DW7000 installed today. Speeds are good, testing over 700k earlier this afternoon. We cannot get file transfers over AIM to work properly. When trying to receive a file, it says the connection has been dropped by the host. We can't send anything out either. This was something we were able to do on dial-up. I was wondering if there are any host settings that I need to change? I am having no trouble connecting to AIM. Just the file transfers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott
