Thanks...
I was afraid of that. I'm going to get a shower and go buy an ethernet card. Should I hook up the modem to the onboard ethernet port or to the card I'm going to buy?

Thanks for the quick reply:
I'm sorry, but I should've explained things better about my setup. I have the Motorola modem coming into my system through a USB 2.0 port. I use my ethernet to connect to my wife's computer on a home network so she can use the cable net and my printers. She's not worried about speed like I am.

I did the Cablenut peak using the XP SP2 5000/348 file. I also changed the RW setting to 384000 to get the pages to load faster.
What else can I do?

Well, I finally got to put in the new card. It is a Linksys. I'm running the cable modem through the onboard NIC. I set it down to half duplex 10 and this is a typical test tonight. My wife's comp is getting net access through the new NIC on mine and she maintains 4K+ downloads almost everytime and I haven't even tweaked hers. That tells me the speed is there, but this machine evidently doesn't like the XP SP2 5000/384 cablenut settings for some reason.
