  1. Hey there, I only took 4 or 5 trips of the installer coming out, claiming all was well. Next day, it would only work parttime. Finally I went out and trimmed some tree limbs (after being told there was nothing in the way) and I haven't had a problem since. My download is right at 512, and upload of near 128, so I can't compain about it. Except Wildblue's customer service. But you can't complain about something that doesn't exist. Only company I know of with worse service is XM, but that's a whole nuther' story...

  3. My sat upload has been terrible (10k), and the whole system doesn't work most of the time, still using dialup. So a big THANK YOU, goes out to WILDBLUE - over 3 hours on the phone with support so far, finally decided it was a bad install job. So last Friday I was told the installer would contact me within 48 hrs.... I'm about one call away from telling them to come get their stuff off my roof - after the 30 day trial period, I'm stuck with a 1 year contract. DT
  4. Just installed WildBlue, and would like to know if there are any OS X apps that will improve my speed and latency. Also, is there an app that might show my signal strength like my TV sat does? Seems to be lots of programs for the PC's...what about us Mac dudes? thanks, DT
  5. Just got sat, WildBlue. Test shows over 400 download, but the latency really kills ya. For just general surfiing, it doesn't seem much faster than my 26 dialup, but when I go to dl a large file, it's way faster. I can download close to 30k/sec, better than my 2 or 3k/sec with my dialup. DT
  6. Okay, read the papers, the dude completely admitted to making the fake video. But it wasn't cheap. He rented a 747, then painted one side to look like Air Force One, and filmed dudes jumping over the fence and painted it. DT
  7. Howdy all! Funny thing, as I was sending this post, my new sat connect got cancelled due to a thunderstorm, hope it gets better. But anyway, I just got my Wildblue yesterday, and without the storm I'm getting over 400 dl, is there anything to combat the latency problem? Some websites take just as long to receive as they did with my 26.4 dialup. thanks, DT
