First, what are your advertised speeds?
-REH

Yes, definitely get that line checked out, that should be your first move. I'd wait until they do the test until trying to tweak anything.
You could go and do the line quality test at dslreports.com also.

Not really anything else to do, you're over your download cap, and close to your upload cap. I guess all you can do is be happy, or upgrade your plan
Just be sure to run frequent spyware and virus scans.

Well, what are your caps? Could you be on a 1500/384 plan?

Hi All,
Do I need to run any other software/program besides cablenut to keep up/increase my internet up/down speed?
Nope, just do frequent spyware/virus scans.... for spyware use Ad-aware.

Well their upload seem to be much better than direcway, I wonder if they really do stand by their word?
-REH

that's unknown, best you can do is call and ask verizon for an expected date

The Adelphia Basic plan just went from 3000/256 to 4000/384 and Premier went from 4000/512 to 6000/768.

What are the specs for the two PC's? obviously there's going to be a difference in performance if they are one new and one outdated, but what is weird is that one gets greater download, and one greater upload. Have you checked for spyware?

you have an average of around 2500kbps, that's not too shabby. So you're on which? DSL or Cable? What are your advertised speeds?
-REH

I get horrible speeds from all of the mirrors, I get average around 6300 on testmy.net, then on the mirrors I can range from 300-2000 lol
