WOAAAHH. something went WAYYY wrong. did all that, and im not sure if it was the uninstalling QoS or CCleaner, but here are my results now...also tried mutliple runs and this is pretty much average...
:::.. Download Stats ..:::
Download Connection is:: 401 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
Download Speed is:: 49 kB/s
Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2006/09/25 - 6:23pm
Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 20.9 sec
Tested from a 386 kB file and took 7.89 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 8.38 % of your hosts average (rr.com)

well, i used to get good speeds, then it just seemed to slow down and now when i try to do any tweaks, it just gets even slower. im gonna use VanBuren's guide for posting http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097
1.) i am running WinXP with SP2 and i have the p2p fix with limit set at 50
2.) RoadRunner cable 5mb down, 512kb up
3.) i have run many different versions of Cablenut Settings and ive tried TCP Optimizer. I've also tried the calculator for CableNut..no luck. i think ive reset my registry to default, but not sure. need some help here before i start doing more tweaks. here are analyzer results...
SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer
TCP properties for IP =
Browser/OS = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.
TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402
MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits (scale factor of 2)
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) <-- current value
64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your TCP Window limits you to: 5139.2 kbps (642.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 2055.68 kbps (256.96 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 116 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)
4.)did multiple test. got anywhere from 46% on one to 91% of host's average. now you might can shut me down right here by telling me if it has to do with the number of people in my neighborhood that are surfing. anyways...heres one of my slower results...

5.)uninstalled QoS packet scheduling. kept Client for Mic. Net., Internet Protocol, and File and Printer Sharing.
6.) use Firefox
7.) No USB, lastest firmware on NIC and Router, NIC set to 100mb half duplex for router. Using Linksys Wireless-G Router also
8.) Will Power cycle after this is posted
9.) No spyware
10.) dont use zonealarm
11.) using Nod32 antivirus
12.) check. no viruses
13.) latest windows updates
14.) ran CCleaner
15.) umm...hoping i could get some help with custom tweaks if possible. already ran bunch of Cablenuts with not much difference
16.) yea..need help with this. couldnt ever seem to get latency right.
like i said, its sorta just going slower than it should. like itll be going fast at first, but then it will start hitching up and i can tell its not natural, so if anybody has any ideas, that would be much appreciated.
thanks

no i havent, ill try that in a sec. im downloading from utorrent right now, and while 157kB is only about 82% of my advertised speed, its nothing im really gonne worry about...especially considering we upgraded from a 256kb connection....(terrible i know. haha)

yeah i have this problem also. ive done multiple tweak programs including TCP Optimizer, CablueNut, and the Bellsouth one. Im getting about 1.14mb. Would it have to do with the distance from the provider cuz i thought i remember reading that somewhere.
slowed down and hiccups

Also power cycled and threw on Cablenut Ver 9 and still same thing. HELLPPP please. i know im in good hands
thanks.
tried system restore. nothing. turned NIC back on 100 full duplex. not that. QoS is installed again. not that. tried seeing if router settings had changed from restart. nope. im pretty much COMPLETELY baffled at this point. only thing i can figure is something bad wrong with reg, but i didnt do anything to it. just followed those steps...
