  3. i have been on the forum for a while now, jsut took a damn long brake.  i have followed those steps alot all the time.  not looking off this site or anything but i do all that stuff. the only thing i didnt know about that the utlity and i downloaded that and it didnt change a thing.  if you read my whole post, i said that i followed those steps already.

  4. ""You are running: 4 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 37.93 second(s)

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 24.1 % of your hosts average (qwest.net)""

ya, been that way for a while.  i did a little firefox hack and that sure helped alot.  i also followed the steps listed on this site (most of em i already knew about)

shoudl i call qwest?  will they be able to make it faster?

it is slow on out mac (osx) and pc (win xp)

i get about the same speed test on wither one.

  5. help!!!

well it was working now it has stopped for no reason what so ever! i have a wifi network set up and i want one computer withought the printer to connect to the one with the printer so i can print. the one withought the printer has the one with the computer listed in the "workgroup computers" but when you try to open it up it says that it was not accesable and that i might not have permission to access it. (i got it not to do this a while ago, when it was working but i didnt do anythng different!) now if i try to access the computer withought the printer using the computer with the printer it doesnt even reconise that their is another computer on the netowork. they both have the same workgroup and all that buisness. i am at my whits end. i also have simple file sharing enabled, whitch was why it wasnt working last time...

the thing is, it is not ad-hok or whatever, they are both connected to a router and they are not connected to eachother, but it used to work just fine so i dont get it!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so i jsut messed around a little here and it seems that every time i go through the network setup wizard/enable romote access on wither computer it delets all the ip address info that i have on my connection to my router. I delets the info i have in for my:

    Dafault getaway

    Subnet mask

    ip address

so, how do i connect to the internet the way i am now and have remote access enabled???????????????

    Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=7UL5NRUG4

what the hell?? how come my cable isnt that fast? i mean i know that cable speed can very but i didnt think it could go that fast!

  7. ok it is all effed up now. before i changed the channel and for a while everything was good. not my tests, only on the wireless computers are slow again. it is not the channel becuase i changed that a bunch of times. i turned off the wired computer and the other wireless computer and now on this computer (primary un-wred computer) everyhting is back to normal again. the thing that gets me is that I WAS NOT DOWNLOADING ANYTHING ON THE WIRED COMPUTER OR THE OTHER WIRELESS ONE. I had aim open but that was it. well anyway, i guess i can jsut turn off all the other computers when it is 2 in the morning and want to play Unreal Tournement 2004 online.....

  8. ie sucks

and y ai have an apple (along with my 3 pcs) and safari is ok. i still prefer firefox for mac although i am prutty sure all firefox is is a variation of netscape (variation of mozilla....)

god damn though! i love OS X!!! any other mac os sucks but dont diss on macs unless you have used os x for atleast an hour straight

  9. WOW this is amazing! I have never seen a similar utility (tcp optimizer) actually make a noticable difference! if you have and mozilla based browser, this little utility is a must have!!! here it is >http://download.softpedia.com:8080/TWEACK/moz_opt.zip

is it possible that i was just on at a bad time last time? i mean i know that the more users in a neighborhood that are on at the same time, the slower the internet is with cable internet but i didnt think it was that much slower!
