  1. It is an internet problem and yes it shows 169.xxx.xxx.xxx even after I power cycle modem(direct to PC).The router is fine it shows only way the modem will get the IP is by unplugging the modem power AND COAX.Plug modem back in,then I wait for the receive light to stay on then I put the coax back in,works every time other wise it shows the 169.xxx.xxx.xxx if I don't unplug the coax.
  2. I've only had this problem with Time Warner. This PC was on Charter before and it had no problems connecting to the modem or router,it's Time Warner.Like I said above thats only way it will get the IP is when I unplug the coax other wise it shows 164.xxx.xxx or something like that and limited or no connectivity. So if someone is having the same problem try as I said above. Windows XP Home SP2 Motorola 4100,5120 does the same thing Linksys WRT54G Connect by ethernet
  3. Unplug the modem then the coax, plug the power back in and wait about 30 seconds and then put the coax back in.I have the same problem and thats the only way it will connect.

  6. ok nevermind it just connected fine wtf
  7. i have rest the router i will have to put the card back in and see the ip agian.and yes the card worked before
  8. well its acting up again but i think its the onboard nic in this epox pos.been using a wireless card with no problems it just slower now.i have a linksys nc100 card but it wont connect and it keeps showing the wrong ip address.guess time for a new mb.

  10. just so you know with that pci x setup on that ECS you will lose the 1st pci slot.my epox is the same way.and your gonna lose performance by only running in single channel mode.the kits are the same price. unless you plan on putting another 1 gb stick in there later?.
  11. I also had bad luck with WD(2 drives in one year) but I only had one Maxtor die and also the Maxtor runs alot hotter then my new Seagate.
  12. get the other board.it has a better chipset more pci slots and on board raid, and you don't need a floppy for sata hdd's also if you have a dual channel motherboard use it.one more thing the ati chipset might not play nice with your 7600gt.you really don't need that cpu fan unless your gonna overclock but i can run mine at 2.5mhz on the stock hsf. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131569 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440 and heres a good power supply plus it has a rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023
  13. heres a good case if you don't want a front door and it comes with two 120mm fans. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119106
  14. the 3700 has little advantage over the 3200.and your pc2700 memory is slow you should get pc3200 if you go socket 939.get a 1 GB kit (2 x 512)or bigger from a name brand like Corsair,OCZ,Cruical,Kingston heres some AM2 ideas MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130050 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131022 CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103032 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103637 MEMORY http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227126 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145566 as far as power supply im running a 420w(cheapo raidmax $20.00) with no problems my specs Amd 3200 64 939 Epox 9npa + ultra(it was cheap) Corsair value select 1 gb kit Evga 7600 gt Audigy 2 zs soundcard 2 HDD 2 optical drives 2 120mm fans
