  1. Okay, after messing with a few settings, (namely the MTU and RWIN) I finally got a load of green bits, instead of red. Below are the results. TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402 MTU = 1500 MTU is fully optimized for broadband. MSS = 1460 Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS. Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920 RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits (scale factor of 6) Unscaled Receive Window = 64240 RWIN is a multiple of MSS Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS: 256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 64240 (MSS x 44)

MSS = 1380 MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value. Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 71680 RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits (scale factor of 2) Unscaled Receive Window = 35840 RWIN is not fully optimized (even though it is a comparatively large number). The unscaled RWIN value is lower than it should be, which can affect your connection to some servers. Also, RWIN being close above 65535 does not justify the header overhead of scaling. You might want to use one of our recommended RWIN values below. For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS. Out of curiosity, on my router setup screen it says: Data Rate Downstream/Upstream 576Kb/288Kb I take it that this is what it is "supposed" to be. I have never seen these figures change, so it looks like they're sent, not detected, but I'll keep my eyes on it.

  5. okay, have set it to 5000, only problem is that tweaktest has stopped working, think i've gone over my allocated "5 tests in a few hours."

  8. Ok, Firstly, I'm gonna apolgize for the length of this, but i'll be damned if i'm gonna miss something out. As you can see, my connection speed is pants. Always has been. Hopefully we can fix this together. I am also a member of the tweakxp forum, as well as a few others, and have tried a few things to no avail, so all got set back to the original settings awaiting (expert) advice from here. (p.s. I have tried VB's updated cablenut settings and no joy) I have basically read through all this forum follwing all the tips, and losing more and more hair, until i figured that i really don't have a clue what else to do, so I just followed the instruction given by VanBuren (as you can see below).
