  1. Well my advertised speed is 512 kbps, but usually I get speeds ranging 1mbps. This is because my cable in uncapped. However, when I use a router my speed decreases.
  2. I have a linksys befsr41 router and I tried testing the speeds of a pc and a laptop hardwired to the router. Both gave speeds less than 1mbps, but when I directly wired the cable to my desktop, I got a speed of 1mbps + Thanks in advance for anyone's help

  5. Thanks for your advice cholla. I already got cablenut, but I don't know what settings to put. Last time I remember, I used this calculator from http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php ,but I think it didn't help so could you, VanBuren or anyone help me make a personal setting for cablenut? thanks in advance
  6. What is RWIN cause TPC analyzer gave me these results RWIN seems to be set to a very small number. If you're on a broadband connection, consider using a larger value. For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS. Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS: 511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8 ) 255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 63888 (MSS x 44) Will changing these values make my connection faster? if yes how do I change them? should I use cablenut?
  7. Thanks for posting dlewis23, uhm what does PPPoE do? and won't my speed be limited to 512 kbps when I move the slider to this speed in tcp optimizer? 8. Hello I've been reading a lot of forums here for 2 years already; however, this is my first time to register and post a question. Well my internet seems to get good speeds at night ranging from 900-1.3 Mbps, but usually it keeps on changing speeds whenever i test it. I've been testing my bandwidth with a lot of sites namely speakeasy.net, 2wire.com including my favorite testmy.net however their speeds always vary. Usually during the day I get a slow speed. My question is could anyone help me tweak my pc so that I could get a better speed. My advertised speed is 512Kbps, but as I sa
