heh i got almost all my stuff for free the person who built my pc had a 50gb hd of downloads so he copied the entire hd onto my 7200rpm 160gig so i got dreamweaver mx psp8 and photoshop for free along with copies of windows server 2003 and windows xp pro

not that im aware of although the tier one line probably has a state of the art one >.<
i just tested my speeds at dslreports and it ranged 6.8mbps down and 12.4mbps up

i run them the same way i run them on my home pc... now when i click upload test on the server it lets me choose a file size i choose the max then it uploads and refreshes and trys uploading a 13.2mb file and never finishes, any clues?

well im not to worried about it at the moment but ill have to give them a call later today im just glad i got my dsl up to snuff if you know what i mean.. it came out better then before that puts me .4mb over cap

yeah its monday now i was going to do that anyway but if it were a bad modem would my friend 6 blocks away with a different model of the modem be having the same problem?

i agree frontpage blah only thing i use it for are my css tables
anyway i use notepad 99% of the time i do php and html for now ive mostly focused on basic html sites and tpl's for forums and sites like postnuke anyway i use dreamweaver MX to help with some layouts it makes work much faster although it does cost like $99 US
but you can probably find it somewhere else like i did, i use Adobe photoshop 7 and jasc paint shop pro 8 for my graphics and then just use dreamweaver to create my layouts then manually place stuff in notepad where i need it
what you need to do is read some good ol tutorials on basic html,
stick with it, creating websites is a loads of fun >.<

lol it sits on top of my case at about 4ft high in an open room what place could be cooler? i was thinking of mounting it behind my hd cooler inside my case that'd be nice a cool eh?

well i woke up this morning the problem was still there but i went to reset my modem again when i noticed it was quite hot so i unplugged it for about 30 minutes

well shoot not long after posting my 1.3mb speed i was playing a game and bam my ms spiked to about 3000 so whats the first thing i do... exit the game and reset my modem when i come back into the game my ping is around 200-300 and stayind steady at first im a little ticked off so i call my friend which has the exact same dsl service and lives 3 blocks on the other side of the sub station it turns out hes getting the same thing.... so what do i do i email them no reply i call them they tell me they dont know if there is a problem with the service and that they will call me back shortly, they never call back and since this is the only high speed internet provider im a little mad.... at the moment i cannot play any of my games due to high ping... i had better pings on dial up

the box is on a tier 1 connection with a 4mb cap so i guess this speed could be expected although with downloads more around 400mb+ the download rate goes about where its suppose to... i find it funny the upload rate wont even test though

i just figured id test my dedicated box's speed its suppose to be on a 4mb cap kinda shocking here... and the upload speed wont even calculate it tells me to retest because it says its over 80000
