  1. I recently bought the modem/wireless router combo that Verizon was offering... I am a computer on the network and have noticed that my signal strength goes from very good to low and my speed 54.0 - 5.5mbps. I also have been experiencing frequent disconnects (like once every 25-30 minutes). Oddly enough though my browsing speed does not drop even with this extremely low signal/speed. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Also: ::::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1503 Kbps about 1.5 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Download Speed is:: 183 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main) Test Time:: Sun May 22 2005 00:38:29 GMT-0400 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 27X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.6 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 48.58 % of your hosts average (verizon.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-98QJS0D1V I have never seen my computer (or any on this network) run dsl higher then 75% of my hosts average. Is there anything I can do for this?
  2. Since my friends at customer support aren't ever any help, ever... I figured I should ask the forums! When my wireless router is connected, Directway latency will jump from 800-5000+ and will do that every couple minutes. Sometimes connection will just drop. But when it is unplugged from router and linked directly to my computer, there is no jump and it runs fine... (er as fine as dway can which doesnt say much) .... I went to Linksys ' website and went through their configuration and it said im running way above average for everything. Has anyone else had this problem with constant latency jumps while using a wireless router? Any help would be greaaatly appriciated.
  3. help you make direcway faster ... te hee,, I was gonna tell him he might need a bible but he already escaped the pitfall. Congrats on the best desicion you've ever made!
  4. Ooh ooh! Remember to call tech support if you ever have any problems whatsoever, they are miracle workers I tell ya!
  5. I cant wait til I'm finally done with this... thing. Everytime I see the direcway commercial on tv ... ugh *shutters*. Two more months then sweet sweet freedom.
  6. Im new to the forums here so this may have already been addressed but: I play MMO's (i know satellite isnt for games as has been reiterated to me many times by the lovely D-Way Techs) and on this paticular MMO there is an icon which tells me my current ping. A great ping for me can run anywhere between 700-1200 its times like these the game runs flawless. From the time I've had D-Way (April 2004) to now I have had to reset my modem at least 2 times a day to keep it stable. But -- the past two weeks my DW6000 has run perfectly, not had to be reset and everything was great. A couple nights ago it started to act up again and my latency would jump from 1200 to 2400 and eventually to 10,000+ unless I reset the modem. The single question that arises from that enormous story is: Does anyone know why my ping would jump from 1200 - 10,000+ numerous times a day ? ...If so, is there anyway to fix this annoyance because after almost a year it has become overwhelmingly obvious that the tech support is horrible. Thanks to all who answer, you guys all seem knowledgeable and friendly so any help is totally appriciated
