k i did the chkdsk /p and it doesn't say the drive is messed up, so i typed in format and it says the parameter is no valid, but in the help console is says FORMAT. so i don't know

how do i run chkdsk

my friend gave me his laptop to fix, and i figured it just need to be formated with windows, so i put the cd in and went threw all the installing etc, then its just stopped and went to a blue screen saying A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL if this is the first tiem you've seen this Stop error screen, restart etc etc if problems continue disable or remove anyu newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.etc etc techical information *** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0xB866CF52, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000, 0xB866CF52) i have no idea what this means and i can't get any version of windows i have to install

i have Qwest 256k, it sucks and i dont think i should be paying 30 bucks for it. qwest only cause 15 bucks but i have msn as my isp. can i just cancel msn and still becaue to use my internet. i dont use anything that deals with msn (browser, email etc)

well, i called them up and ask whats the problem, and they said the phone filters. So i guess it was that simple

http://www.dslreports.com/quality/nil/1758655 i dont really know what it mean, but it says failed and i think thats bad. i reset my tcp/ip going to restart now. i know it not my modem because it worked fine before i reformated. i already called qwest and they just reset some stuff. I reformated because i was adding a new harddrive in and i just wanted to start over with the new drive.

I Resently reformated my harddrives. Now my internet disconnect and reconnect constantly and logs me off AIM. This is getting really annoying. I can't download files from websites because it will disconnect and i have to restart and it keeps doing it. I have an Arescom NetDSL 800 with qwest. Intel PRO/100 VE Ethernet card. I updated my drivers for it but it didn't help. I'm running on Windows XP SP2. Can you guys help me out? I tried search on google and couldn't find much that helped. thanks
