  1. Can optonline cap/throttle your download speed as well? I mean I've gotten my upload capped before, so I was wondering if they can do the same to your download speed too. My downloads have been painfully slow this morning, but maybe it's because of heavy internet traffic. Can someone confirm this?
  2. I retested several times again, and this time my speed is ranging from 100-460kb/s. Strange
  3. I did, but it's still the same. I'm getting this on both my computers, but whenever I try downloading something else, the speeds are completely different.
  4. I have no idea if this is the right section to put this, so move this accordingly later... Anyways, I was testing my download speed and got around 480-520 kb/s, which is pretty decent. But then I tested my speed an hour later and this was my stats: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1584 Kbps about 1.6 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Download Speed is:: 193 kB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Test Time:: Sun Mar 20 19:59:27 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 28X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.31 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 33.88 % of your hosts average (optonline.net) However, my internet didn't seem any slower at all, so I tried to confirm this by downloading a couple files, which was downloaded at 510kb/s. I did this several times, and got a consecutive 480-530 kb/s. But after downloading a couple files, I retested my speed with the download tester and the still got a pretty low speed, so I thought something was wrong. Then I downloaded a file WHILE testing the speed, and one went around 450 something kb/s while the tested results were around 200. Is something wrong with the download tests, or is this just happening to me?
  5. Is there a possibility that this might lower my speed?
  6. I'm currently using Optimum Online and my DL speed is usually around 400-460. But my UL speed seems to be capped at 16kb/s, and I have no idea how to fix this. I've tried changing my windows registry and it slightly boosted my DL speed, but my UL speed still remains the same. Some help would be highly appreciated.
