  3. Ok Something is wrong and it only shows up here. If I test on Internetfrog or speakeasy my DL is 6M to 13M but here this is what I get: Sorry, your score of 102798 Kbps is over testmy.net's max of 60000 Kbps. It is very doubtful your connection is faster than 60000 Kbps... Please RETEST ::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 70100 Kbps about 70.09999999999999 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 8557 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 373 Kbps about 0.37 Mbps (tested with 748 kB) Upload Speed is:: 46 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/10/09 - 8:34pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-OTRV2SGWH U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-34MDZJQ59 User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1) I cleared my cache so that is not the problem. Also I noticed that while the test was running for the most part the window was white.
  4. My upload is normally around 374k but like I said I am using bittorrent on another PC while I did the test. I just wanted to see if it would give me a result. I took the test yesterday and it said I exceeded 90000k while the test supports up to 60000k. So I cleared my cache and retested but I had started BT in between. My normal speed is between 7M and 14M based on size of file and time of day.
  5. I am not sure what is happening but the download speed is too high. I am Currently using BT on another PC at 36 KBps DL / 26 KBps Upload. I cleared my internet files. any guesses? :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 25097 Kbps about 25.1 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 3064 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 171 Kbps about 0.17 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Upload Speed is:: 21 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Server 1) Test Time:: 2006/10/09 - 4:44am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-I240YEKQB U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-OMAWEZKVR User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1) [!]

  7. Sorry He was talking about Coax. He has no coax. I simply stated the problem could be caused by bad cat5 cable, or filters missing in the house. What changes were made in the house before the connection went bad? New phone added? Was the splitter added before the problem arose? I was simply trying to help, sorry for the confusion.
  8. Karthic You don't have a splitter your ISP is DSL. Make sure all phone jacks excluding the PC connection has a filter attached. Also the Cat5 cable can be replaced they are very cheap. after checking the obvious then call your ISP if you still have trouble it may be a bad DSL Modem or connection to your ISP.
  9. I have spent the past year complaining about comcasts speed only to find out I had a defective router. I hooked up a new wireless router and saw speeds just over the 6Meg advertised. Then I ran System Mechanic6 optimizer and they doubled! I wish I had found this site before I paid for system Mechanic though. I would have liked to see if the free tools could have boosted me like that.
