  1. Decade, did you try putting back in the XP cd and do a repair?  I had your problem and I think that is what I did to solve the problem?

    Good Luck,

    compuworm

P.S. before you do that make sure your xp cd is clean.

  2. ROM-DOS, I am not sure where your going with this post.  What about what is happening right here in the good-old-USA.

    What about Warrentless wire taps,

our President's administration leaking under cover CIA operative names,

unprecedented cooporate corruption (do you know how many ppl lost their life savings, and retirement funds affect Mr.ROM-DOS?),

going to war based on lies (how many good and brave Americans continue to died for that lie ROM-DOS?),

the President appointing political connected friends into positions they simply have no qualifications for (Micheal Brown EX-FEMA director, how many ppl ROM-DOM died and continue to suffer for that mess?),

how about Haliburton winning no bit contracts for reconstruction in Iraq (I am sure it had absolutely nothing to due with vise President being an ex-CEO of Haliburton),

American company's running the tax shelters overseas so as not to have to pay taxes, and so on and so on.

Long story short Mr.ROM-DOS,  how can we even begin to tell another nation how to get their house in order when ours is in such a shameful state?

Having said all that, I do agree in essence with your statements but lets make America great again first.  Lets make a stand here and make our Government and Cooporations tow the line for their lies and greed.  Only then will thing get better for all.

  4. With all due respect Shug7272, I  don't believe I was out of line nor any other posts they (and I) where merely stating our opinions.

You want to censor this post that's your decision.  But, I believe that would be an inappropriate response.

  5. You are either very naive, immature, or both.  I have a life I suggest you grow-up.  The FACTs are out there why don't you take the time to read (have grandma help you with the big words) instead of shooting your apparently ignorant mouth off here.  Have a great day.

  6. The Downstream Power level should be 0 to -15 your is a bit high.  You might want to put a call in to have your line modulated.  Have you checked to see if new firmware is available for your router?  Anywho, what is your ISP's advertised download and upload speeds your suppose to be getting?

Further, You have a NIC to which your Modem and/or router is connected.  You need to find out if this is set to 10 full duplex or 100 full duplex.  Press and hold down the, " Alt" key and double click your, My Computer icon.  This should bring up the Device Manager Window.  Look at the devices listed and click on the plus sign next to the Network Adapter.  This should show you your network Card.  Double click on this device and this should open your NIC window.

Click the Advance tap and select, Media Type and the value should be shown.  If it is set at 100Base TX full duplex try changing the setting to 10baseT full duplex.  Click, OK and restart your computer and power cycle your modem and router.  Then try your speed test again and post.

    Sincerely,

    compuworm

  7. Are you running any Vanburen Cablenut settings with the Cablenut program?

    thanks,

    compuworm

P.S. Who is your ISP provider and do you have your router connected to your cable modem.  You might want to go to your cable modem page (type:192.168.100.1 into your browser web page address bar) and tell me what your upstream and downstream power levels are thanks.

  8. Why Lawyers should never ask a witness a question if they aren't prepared for the answer:

In a trial, a Southern small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand ... a grand motherly, elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've know you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me.

You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The Lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"

She again replied, "Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem.

He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women, one of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."

    The defense attorney almost died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said:

"If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, I'll throw your butts in jail for contempt."

I hope you enjoyed the funny,

  10. You know I just don't know what to believe what Bush says anymore,, first he tells us we need to go to war in Iraq because of WMDs. The Downing street Memo disclosure says the facts where manipulated to fit the war policy. Bush, states later the intelligence was wrong, "oops sorry 2000 + Americans dead, 300 billion a year price tag for our wrong way war trip".

NOW, he states the Warrantless domestic spying program were only meant for people with known al Qaeda links.  We find out later he is god damn practically spying on all Americans  with help from American telecommunications companies, and has obtained broader access to streams of domestic and international communications.

He stated that news organizations threatened our National Security by releasing the information regarding the warrentless wire taps and has damaged our intelligent program.  But, what about HIS administration releasing the name of an undercover CIA operative as revenge for her husband's interview in which he stated the facts behind the reason to go to war were being fixed, and in the end he was right! .  EXCAUSE ME, but isn't that damaging to our national security.  Further isn't it known as TREASON when an American discloses information that can get an American agent killed, steal secret information, and/or discloses information regarding the identity of an American agent.  Yes it is and guess what, this information folks was leaked right from OUR President's Administration.

You know we tried to impeach Clintion for having a fling with a White House Aid.  Damn why aren't we doing something about Bush?  Please don't get me wrong I am not a republican or democrat I am a free thinker and vote my conscience.  OK, sorry stepped off the soap box.
