dont know much about mac address...were you a able to read the instructions on how to tweak the canopy software? Coz it seems your speed needs some inprovement. Read pages 1 to 8 of this thread.

no need bro. and dont be afraid,  they also tweak the canopy to that setting to many customers.

what we dont know yet, is how to change base stations. I hope that someone will give us the instructions.

Yup, those are the correct settings...hmmm Taytay....if still, the speed wont improve it's time to call customer service and complain about the slow connection.they will send technicians the next day and ttell the technicians to use a different base station. tell them also to change your antenna. hey, its all free.

that speed is w/ YM opened and I did not even erased my cache and also with 6 tabs/websites  open (firefox), imagine if clean this up my speed will definitely be higher.

I haven't opened or tweaked  my Canopy since last December. this shows that once you save your tweaked settings, speed will be consistent

your speed is really awfull. go back again to your Canopy and tweak it. and remember to save and reboot the Canopy. where is your location?

here's a solution to your mac problem (hope that this works):

I'm using windows xp laptop inside my room and my kids have an iMac 350 with theirs. You are right the step-by-step procedures provided by elijahpaul is for windows only but there is a backdoor.

First, connect a windows computer to your SmartBro connection (you need your username and password that was provided to you by SmartBro). Second, yup you now can tweak your canopy settings using the windows pc (follow elijahpaul's procedure). Third, after the tweak test your speed (of course use TMN speed test), if you get a download speed of 350 to 385kbps then your on the right track. I recommend that you test your speed by using the large file. Fourth, disconnect your pc then re-connect your Mac to the SmartBro line. Fifth, test your speed again using your Mac and you will get the same speed with the pc.

I know because I tried it with my kids iMac and I'm getting the same speeds with the two computers.

The Canopy Software (I think) settings/configuration are not saved in your computer but only thru SmartBro's network.

go back again to pages 5 - 8 of this thread. elijahpaul has some instructions on how to un-block the canopy software.

it seems that the procedures to change your canopy settings worked. based on your post, you  made the right procedures but there is no reason why it should not open again.

go through the procedures again and if the canopy software opens,  bookmark it so that you  wont have to always go back to the steps in opening the canopy software.

Pls. post your speed and use the testmy.net speed test.

you dont need to always change the tcp/ip settings if you need to open your canopy software. when the canopy software is open bookmark it so that whenever you need to access it, just open it thru your bookmark.

elijahpaul is busy with his studies...hes not always online.

Tell them that your connection is very slow. I once called them last December and the next day technicians arrived and replaced the antenna and checked the canopy settings.

Senfar antenna is inferior (smart broken) to the Motorola antenna (if you upgrade to Motorola antenna your Canopy version will also be updated). Keep on complaining or calling customer service about your slow connection (its all free).

update us after they replaced your antenna.
