  1. Have you tried going into "msconfig"? Usually, if I have a slow problem I look in the "start up items" in msconfig. You can disable all or choose which programs that you want to start up when your computer starts up. Disabling all won't delete any programs, just disable them from running in the background at start up. Are you familiar with this utility? If not, go to your start button and choose thr "run" option, then typr "msconfig" and click ok. When the utility opens, click the top, far right "start up" tab. If you have a lot of checked files, that could be some of the problem. Hope this helps!
