Moving in a couple weeks... switching back to Cox Communications 50/5 because Qwest's best offering in my new area is 20Mbps/768Kbps (BOOOOO!) -- Goodbye insane upload  --- But hello cheaper bill and 50Mbps! :hello:

My heart bleeds for you lol. *I've got the worlds smallest violin playing the worlds saddest song* lol! I pay $40 a month for 4/4 and that is the maximum package! Booooo Hiss!!! :knuppel2::tickedoff:

  3. I won't be getting one. Whatever they decide to quit telling me what I can and can not install then I might consider one.

Until then I am eyeballing Google's new tablet that they are coming out with. --->

  4. here again at 10pm EST.....Spaceway3

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

        Minimum = 596ms, Maximum = 1053ms, Average = 819ms

These ping times are(sadly) why if somebody ask me which satellite provider to use I tell them to go with Hughesnet. Wildblue used to put those ping times to shame until they implemented their traffic shaping technology at the end of 06 I think. Now I do good if I can get a ping to go as low as 1053ms.

  5. Here is a ping with Spaceway3....will post another during evening hours:

    (8am EST)

I know someone that is on Spaceway 3(Hughesnet) and I can honestly say that browsing feels much snappier on it than Anik F2(Wildblue). I would switch over, but I don't want to be under contract if something better comes along. I am running contract free with Wildblue right now.

Of course I am only occasionally on Wildblue. My parents have it at their house. Thankfully I have Embarq DSL at my apartment.  :grin2:

  6. Could I get some WildBlue users to post up some ping times? scientist are encouraged to reply.

  7. I think we should do a psych experiment. We need to make it to where you can give yourself karma and make it so that there is no time limit between each karma point. Then we will see how long it takes for Shugs to stop clicking the button.  :2funny::haha::evil6:

*3 years later* Shugs stop clicking that damn button! Shugs: Never!!!

  8. I am definately due for a clean good all fashion wipe everything off my hardrive day.Although I dont want to lose all my music.  So i may consider upgrading and as a student i can get it for 30 bux or free on piratebay. :evil6:

I get it for free since I am a CIS major  . I get free access to MSDNAA, which has Windows 7 Pro free of charge.  :grin2:

Back up what you can!!  Install creator works nice for that kind of stuff. Once you have windows 7 loaded give this a shot. May save you some time.  http://ninite.com/

If only I knew about this whenever I went to Windows 7! I had to reinstall everything because you can't upgrade from Vista Home Premium to 7 Pro.(I was probably better off doing a clean install anyway though)

  9. :idiot2: :idiot2:  Does anyone really think that this sale will make any kind of positive change for the existing Wildblue/Dish.  It would be nice if the new upper crust would look at all the complaints that have been filed against Wildblue about their service and current abilities in certain parts of the country.  I would like to see them help the existing customer base with their issues and then expand, BUT......So,  if there is anyone out there with the new Via-Sat1/Wildblue can you tell us honestly what will happen...... I know it will never be real DSL but it needs to be better, at least what your paying for close to 24/7.

               SO WILL VIA  SAT1 HELP??????  LETS HERE FROM YA    :undecided:

Honestly I wouldn't hold my breath.

  10. "* Enable service on a par with DSL and cable"

This is the kind of statements that angers me. This is NEVER going to happen with a high orbit satellite. Not unless someone figures out how to transmit radio waves faster than the speed of light. Satellite can not and will not ever compete with DSL or cable.(Unless it is some kind of MUCH lower orbiting satellite)

Also if Viasat wants those satisfaction ratings to go up, then they need to find a traffic shaping technology that doesn't make the already atrocious satellite latency 2-4x what it should be.

Now this is what a real internet connection looks like.  :smitten:

  11. It goes much deeper then a simple hardware incompatibility, this has been gone over extensively .

If that were the case, would MS have dumped billions more into another OS just a couple years later for a major release ?

To each his own I guess. It has been rock solid for me. It might have been a little rough before SP1, but since then it has been smooth sailing for me.

Either way though it is irrelevant now because Windows 7 is going to be great.

  12. Yea I used the beta for some time. Stable, Fast, Almost all the programs I used worked with it. I think the internet really gave vista a bad rap. Now I never used vista, I was happy with Xp. Reading so many good things about windows 7 and Used the beta for a few months, So far seeing nothing but good things about it.

I think vista users had so many problems, Microsoft should give them a free upgrade to windows 7. IMHO think the die hard Xp users will make the switch to windows 7. I am sure in time I will. Even the Linux geeks are giving Windows 7 some positive comments. Time will tell.

Personally I think that the internet WAAAAY over exaggerated Vistas problems. The problem with Vista is the hardware was not caught up with the software yet when it came out. I would NEVER consider going back to XP after using Vista. I can't even remember the last time my computer crashed with Vista.

  13. Windows 7 is going to be their smoothest and most stable release to date IMO. I ran the Vista beta and it was pretty much unusable. Windows 7 on the other hand was already better than Vista and probably could have been released at Beta 1 and there wouldn't have been any complaints. It was a whole world of difference from the Vista beta. Granted Vista is an excellent OS now Windows 7 is going to be even better.

  14. I have been using Windows new Mesh system. Sync sounds a lot like it, but I haven't tried it. I know that Mesh also allows remote desktop from any web browser which can come in handy. Also that onlinestorage site says that it is $19 not $10.(Of course it might have went up from the time that you posted) I must say it all sounds good, but the site doesn't look very professional. Which doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad product. Just something that I tend to notice.

  15. no idea, that's a question that can't be resolved by doing a partial reset. lol..

kindly make sure that the placement of the picture is on the edge of the scanner bed if you are trying to copy a pic. browsing through the menus either on the setup button or the copy menu. you may see something like enlarge, print original size, something like that..  :)

I put it in the correct corner. Like I say it used to work just fine. I can't imagine what could be causing it. I am doing everything the same as I was when it was working correctly as far as I know.
