  1. Wasn't quite sure where to put this but figured it fit best here. The new look is great and things seem alot more streamlined now and I love the new speed test tools.
  2. HN7000S modems now have the speed increases and it appears FAP increases rolled out today as well.
  3. Speed increases have now went to the 7000 users as well and also fap increases rolled out today for everyone I believe.. HN has changed it's advertisement themes so they are not quite so misleading now as well.
  4. Below is a link to the new Hughesnet official forum run on the Hughesnet customer care site. So far there has been great Hughes tech participation and there are several subjects there now for people to give ideas on like improvements to hughesnt in general and ideas for FAP improvement and so so check it out, so far so good. http://community.myhughesnet.com/hughesnet/
  5. Still clicking along and some of the HN7000s users are now seeing these speeds and for anyone that didn't know these are official upgrades.
  6. As usual I have always found that if you tough it out long enough with Hughesnet then they will try to make things better eventually. These are the new 9000 download speeds most people are seeing now and supposedly rumor has it that the 7000 systems will see speed improvements as well very soon.
  7. The new speeds with the 9000 systems. The upload limit is the same so not gonna post a test for it but the upload speeds are staying closer to plan speeds now. Rumor has it we may get to keep these speeds and the 7000 systems are soon to see an increase as well. guess it is a wait and see game now.
  8. Hey it's satellite so the down score is great but the upload score could use a little work, lol.
  9. Will be able to get 4G here too but with the cost and verizons low fap I think I will stay where I am for now. If verizon ever gets real and decides to let people have reasonable amounts of bandwidth then I might switch. Oh and if they ever drop the $500 deposit thing.

And these tests were taken on a drizzly cold nasty day. I hope they don't oversell the beams on this sat. before Jupiter go's online.
  11. With everything factored in the best ping possible on Sat. was I believe 450ms and with any kind of shared use at all that number went to 540ms or somewhere close to that. The best I have ever gotten in 9 years on sat. is 562ms.

  13. First off, use the 3 MB test for your level of service and also with testmy you will get a very very accurate test every time but there is a trick to it with sat. Simply start the test and when it loads and starts testing click back on your browser and start the test again. For some reason the latency of sat. will cause the test here to start at 15 to 20 percent done already on the first test which gives you an inflated speed test. The reason I said use the 3MB test is that you can also get an inflated result from any test if the test size is set to small. If you follow these instructions you will find that not only will your results reflect the browsing speeds it seems like you are getting but you will also notice that if you compare it to Hughesnet's own test they will run almost exactly the same all the time and this sight you don't have to put in numbers to even get to the test and wait 10 minutes for a result.
  14. Here is a link to a Cnet news column about the new satellite going up in 2012. A little idea of maybe something to look forward to. http://news.cnet.com/8301-30686_3-20022156-266.html?tag=topStories1
  15. Yeah, I wish I had a few yard birds instead of a whole city of yard birds sometimes.
  16. I was on the small business plan at $99 a month with the .98 dish, 2 watt trans. and hn7000s modem. This system does good but it still has far more rain fade than my old dish and as far as upload speed go's it is the same now as it always was running at right at 200 kb/s all the time. With the system I had the pings were usually a bit better until the whole thing went to pot with the service being oversold. I was no longer able to get better than 400 kb/s download speeds with it for a year before I finally got them to do something about it. I seldom ever hit fap and have only had to buy tokens on one occasion thanx to World of Warcraft's downloader sneaking up on me on 3 computers at once. I run 3 to 4 computers pretty much all day long though and use a good portion of my daily allowance more often than not so downgrading a plan really isn't an option. It is used for business as well as pleasure too. I am a chicken farmer and raise 240'000 chickens every 2 months so you can imagine the record keeping and reporting on this set-up, lol. Every since they sent out the update that goofed everyone up my speeds went down to 300 KB/s for about 2 weeks or so and then last week it jumped back up to 1 to 1.5 Mb/s most of the time and I am not complaining about that because like I said that is fine but I still havn't ever gotten back to the 2+ Mb/s I was getting before the update. Hopefully I get back there someday but if not I'll live with these numbers and pray it doesn't get as bad as it was on the KU satt.
  17. Thanx for the info, it is a gen 3 and although they list my plan as elit I should still be commissioned as a business user if that makes any difference but I am not positive. They gave me a free upgrade because of the service I was getting 3 months or so ago but I kind of got downgraded at the same time because I now have the smaller dish and 1 watt trans. and not real sure about how I am commissioned. But as long as it works ok then I am not going to complain much.
  18. Commissioning version is 081522ca and the operational version is 082065ab I don't know if it is gen 3 or 4, I have only had it for about 3 months but who knows how long the installer had it before me and so on. My speed was great but they released an update according to some of the more tech wise guys on dsl reports and that started alot of troubles for folks with speeds and their turbo page. About a week ago my turbo page stopped registering errors other than one or 2 a day as usual and my speeds got better but they still are not what they were but close enough till it doesn't affect what I do much. Whatever it is the congestion does affect it to some extent because I can get up to around 1.5 down late or early morning but from 2 in the afternoon on I stay at 1Mb through the evening. Even at 1Mb down it doesn't bother me because most of the things I download are updates and I do them overnight so I won't complain about speeds at that or better because like you stated about the faster plans there really isn't to much differance surfing at 1Mb vs. 2Mb.
  19. They must have fixed their goofed update cause I am at half my plan speed and have been at least that the last couple of days, I was at 10% speed for about a week and a half or 2 weeks. Will be glad if they got it all worked out.

Thats a far sight better than my old hn7000 system and hopefully it stays that way.
  21. Great speeds, thanx for sharing. Hopefully the speeds go up for the price paid per plan someday but to be honest I am very happy with the service I get now and as far as the pings go they won't improve past 650ms and I am happy with that is I could get it most of the time like I used too but really they are not that bad right now. I would do a test and show off my speed but it is super foggy outside and things are a bit slow this evening so I will wait and at it tomorrow evening.
  22. I would be willing to bet that your problem isn't upload speed but something causing a latency issue. That speed is better than mine most of the time and I don't have any issues with the mmorpg's that I play and I even have the added latency of sattelite internet.
  23. Hughesnet Satt. 2mb down and 300kb up plan, paying around $130 a month all totaled but the plan is $99 a month if I remember correctly on the hn9000 system. :::.. 24. Hey, I just thought I would tell you something you may already know and might not be able to do anything about, lol. With Hughesnet I have to test twice to get an accurate result and I have seen others say that as well. The first test always starts at about 15% finished or so and always gives an inflated result but the second one is always accurate and starts at 0% when the page loads like it should. It isn't any big deal or anything and it has been that way for me at least for several years, I just wasn't sure if you were aware of it or not.
