  4. And who told you that? You should remember his/her name because it is absolutely BULL$$$$ (sorry...) If I have a Windows 98 machine with 64 mb of memory and 2 gigs of harddrive space, I could still make it to work properly.
  5. Here are my stats from testmy.net and here's my stats from your speedtest... The funny thing is, when I used speedtest.net and chose the Pakistan server (which is much closer than Dallas, Texas), I got a lower speed... I got 128 kbps. So I'm thinking that maybe speedtest.net's stats are 'inaccurate'?
  6. Lastly... this is for Firefox users... Tweak your settings to make it load pages faster. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. Got this info here: http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2005/02/04/firefox_speed_boost_tweak_tips.htm I think I've posted enough to make your connection much much faster... Cheers!
  7. I also tweaked the Windows Bandwidth. Apparently, Windows is using 20% of your Internet Bandwidth for its own use. I took back that 20%. To do this, follow the instructions in this article. http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/news/2006/06/01/how-to-take-back-20-of-your-bandwidth-from-windows-xp/ Hope this helps. Happy surfing!!!
  8. Oh by the way, I'm not using any download or internet accelerators... Hehehe!
  9. I dunno how to insert an image here but here are my settings. May I also remind you that the cell site is just 3 blocks from my location (i don't know if that matters).
