  1. Ummm haha nice one. My neighborhood is fairly densely populated as are many. The speed increases are the result of network upgrades, not because there aren't a lot of people. I believe there was a statement that eventually other areas will have the same speed increase after their infrastructure is upgraded.
  2. What do you mean by that? Anyway we finally got the extra HD channels that Baton Rouge rolled out a month ago. History HD, Lifetime HD, Weather HD, Science Channel HD, and NFL Network HD (if you have the sports tier).
  3. You just have to find a fast enough server with a big enough file so that powerboost wears off after a while. It's not something easy to find really. But the cox website says premier is now 20 mbit down and faster with speedboost, which is fairly consistent with what I've seen. Typically on good servers downloads can start off as fast as nearly 3 megabytes/sec and usually level off around 2.5 after powerboost is finished kicking in.
  4. Preferred Tier is now 12 mbit/s down and Premier Tier is 20 mbit/s down and 1.5 mbit/s up. And of course those speeds can be even faster with powerboost. I was getting 30 mbit down on the premier tier with powerboost.

    Vista to XP

Depending on the age of the XP disk (I know this sounds werid), it may not see your drives/partitions. I had a very old XP Home edition disk I was trying to install on a computer with Vista and it wouldn't recognize any of the drives. I used a newer XP disk (SP2) that I had (got them mixed up in the first place) and it could see them. More than likely you may want to use some sort of partition manager that can boot off of in order to delete the partition and make one that the disk can recognize. I could be wrong but I'm just going by my own experience and what happened (this was not a SATA drive, so there were no drivers that needed installing).
