hi a7v8mx i see u got a problem there. im a fellow globelines user too. can i ask how long u been using their service? and is it like that the first time they install it?my speed was fine then after the installation but after a month i got some serious problems with the slow downs. it took me awhile to find a solution to this problem.since we have dynamic ip's it always changes once we unplug or turn off our router. what i notice (from months of experimenting) is that there are some ip's that do give fast connection speeds. i dunno if it will work for you but u can give it a try. here are some ip's that i use 222.127.33.xxx 222.127.80.xxx 222.127.90.xxx 222.127.120.xxx 222.127.121.xxx 222.127.122.xxx 222.127.123.xxx sometimes took me hours to find those ip's (sometimes a few minutes) so i dont turn off my router anymore

nice speeds care sharing what plan u at or what tweaks uv done?

same prob i encounter with smartbro then. just give it a few days and maybe ur conn will return to normal. even if u call their "customer assistance" they will just tell u the usual thing i.e. ping this,ping that, delete cookies, update every other progs in ur pc etc.,maybe in 2-3 days ur conn will normalize, just be patient. im not. i switch to globe :grin2:

ive called smartbro cs time and again, they always tell me they will send somebody here (1 week tom and nobody showed up) and im very frustrated with the way they treat their CUSTOMERS. i lost my patience and the wife already applied for globelines broadband (am very thankful there is a slot available now). smartbro techs that always come to visit me ruined my roof, and my ceiling which costs me a lot. now i have the roof repaired and the ceiling new, i wont let them up my roof again, if they want thier canopy, ill dismantle it myself.demn! smartbro sux! btw this is my speed as of now... now can somebody tell me if this worth what im paying? its worst than dialup. ive done the tweaks coolbusters and the tcp optimizer thing, it gave me 500-600+ dl speeds BUT it slows my dl speed, disconnect me in an online game, even yahoo mesgr disconnects.

have u tried CBs' 20 steps?it helps a lot. and another thing, youtube is laggy nowadays (to me).

i dont have conn for 2 days (sat morn till 8pm,) then sunday when i strated my pc no conn at all (customer service saying same all routine "chk this, ping this that, bal bla blah,tech team will come on monday bet 9am-1pm) its sunday now and my conn was back 6:45 pm.jeez... if they have problem with their BS why they dont just say it! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

about a week ago i called their customer support and they told me that there is nothing wrong with their base station, and they told me to isolate my pc (im using a router)and as usual, the "pls monitor ur connection for 24hrs" thing is all i get. after 30 mins (my wife doesnt know that i already called), my wife decided to call, problem is the one that talk to her SAID that there is a PROBLEM with the base station. funny how they ALWAYS say "we dont give wrong information" all the time, as if what they say is sacred and always true, yet repeatedly they made such remarks when we call them. now i highly doubt if those answering on the other line have any knowledge or the capability for at least basic troubleshooting.this affect us all smartbro user, its either scripted answers or rehearsed. earlier today (around 1pm manila time) my wife called them again (without my knowing).the guy from the other end told my wife that our conn speed (around 110kbps) is ACCEPTABLE and NORMAL and nothings wrong with it.when my wife ask if what her name and id she REFUSE to give it say "were not allowed to give our id's anymore". now im really fed up. 9am-up to 11 pm is a nightmare. my decent conn is from 11pm to 8am only (and i am not a zombie to stay that late!). also i already done with the tweaks.step by step.nothing happens. SMARTBRO.simply...AMAZING!

15 mins ago my wife called smartbro cs, told them about our veeeeryyyy slow connection... they told us to do this, do that, isolate this, which i already did a hundred times. now after 15 mins i call them back saying i did what they told me and they inform me now that there is something wrong with the base station or something. now it pisses me off having been goof by their personnel into doing things. they shudve told me that there is a problem firsthand. and another thing, i ask the cs whom i speaking and she told me that they are not allowed to give their id#. she only gave me her name (which any1 can fake). i wish there is a way to verify this. not being able to know they are is like talking to somebody who doesnt really know what ur talking about.

hey rich_aled, during my first month with smartbro my conn speed was just like yours. i mean EVERYDAY i call them customer support (imagine everyday twice or thrice a day i place a call) then finally (after almost 1 month) a more experienced installer/troubleshooter came to my house. the original position of my canopy was almost to the center of my roof. there is a big tree on the left but its not blocking LOS. what the last team did was to move the canopy about 6 meters to the right, i said no problem if that will make my conn faster. its the same configuration..same base station, but i get a little bit more.hope this helps. my problem is (as posted by CB, many of us connected on the same base station).and for me its always like peak hours

well this is my speed now 7:38pm my conn drops starting 1pm gradually then 6pm is the worst.this will continue until 10:30pm... i will continue to monitor. any feel free to comment about this.... on weekends my conn speed is somewhat close to a nightmare. on weekdays i only get a few hours of decent speed. now, is it worth staying with this kind service? i forgot i cant cancel my service w/ smartbro , forgot the lock in period lol

this is my speed now 9:45 am my AV is avast firewall is komodo. i have 1G of ram using dlink route DI-604. do i have to tweak my settings? cablenut or tcpoptimizer? thanks for all the replies

connection speed = (maximum bandwidth) / (number of users using the connection on the same access point) hope this helps a little to understand wireless connection.. but if you're going to use a router that can boost connection, it's an additional 20% of bandwidth will be distributed on your end. so a router can mess conn speeds? im using a dlink router now and so far so good. btw my speed now is..ta-daa! ahh weekends... maybe it will change tomarow...jeesh... btw, i hope they REMIND or TELL their customer that this might hAPpen to them.

as of 9:55 my conn speed is and i know it will still drop (my conn is always low on weekends)

thanks for the relplies guys, last night a poor soul from smartbro receive some tongue lashing courtesy of my wife :2funny: we did demand for a supervisor to tak to, but they seem to very very very busy and more than 30 mins of talk over the phone they say they gonna call us within 30 mins (never happen). and they also suggest to monitor my speed within 24hrs. this is my speed now 8:15am Phil time i hope its always like this. havent tweak it yet.

good pm to all of u sirs. i would like to ask for ur opinion regarding my problem... as a smartbro user, i always notice at peak hours my connection speed drop considerably, usually 8am-11am, after those hours my connection either drops or rise but only a few kbps,(monday-thursday) at fridays,saturday and sunday, my conn speed drops from 8am and only recovers speed at 9pm.now im used to it by now coz im using smartbro for 3mos. the problem is i formatted my HD this morning (finish it b4 8am),then do some speedtesting (i forgot to screenie it) but it was 400+ kbps.then 9am this morning till 3pm my speed never increase my speed so far 3pm i dont know if i should tweak it now or leave it as it is. what should i do? i called customer support and they say nothings wrong with the base station. thanks.
