  1. no its a wi fi card that u use for laptops to surf while being mobile. Look up EDVO I don't know about Alltel but they may have it. Don't believe them about bringing you into the new mil. on dsl and fiber optics in the sticks. My state hasn't even got the biggest city close to that yet and its been 8 years since they started. I think if you call Alltel about a card for a laptop to access the internet from anywhere they may have a card that wouldn't cost what you are paying now. Just helping SD
  2. Do you have a cell phone that works out there in the sticks?? I know what you mean because that is where I'm at too. No mans land the land that no company wants to invest in. That is why we have these leaches like Wild Blue and Hughes sat systems preying on unsuspecting but oh so wanting consumers. I'm fixing to switch over to a PA card with ATT others are EDVO cards and they run monthly between 50-60 per month no limit or FAP

It doesn't look to me like they have 3 tiers of service only FAP, your getting the same download and up load speed that I am getting, Looking at going to EDVO since I have cell service already but mine is with ATT and they don't have EDVO per se but HSDPA pcmi cards. Don't know what components to use for networking 2 desktop computers and a laptop but working on getting out of the Hughes and Wild Blue hell-0 that they deal for way too much money for what we get or should I say what we don't get. Tommy G has me thinking here about a better day. Found the card with ATT for $60.00 per month which is cheaper than WB middle package that I have now. ATT said that downloads for the GT MAX was 3.6 mbps.........hummm yea here I go. Kiss this WB and Hughes.
  4. Are you the top package because I am the middle package with a high end download of 1 gig but at this time the best is 700 download during slow periods. I refuse to give them more money for the higher package when they cannot service this package for the 70.00 per month that I pay now. They have sold out my beam here in Texas and when I leave them here soon they will sell to one more person and make anywhere from 199.00 to 299.00 hook up and not provide what they advertise or promise the poor sucker. I filed a complaint with the state attorney general last night about their misleading sales vs what the consumer actually gets in services.

Another call to Dishnetwork about their Wild Blue service being so crappy, They stated that my beam was closed in my area and the speed of 700 kbps is probably going to be my best speed download even though I am contracted for 1 gig downloads and that is what I am paying for. The night shift supervisor begged off telling me to call on day shift because the night shift has limited resources. They told me that they only deal with service issues DUH Awhipe what do you think this is? I couldn't even get pages to load this evening about 7 pm,, they stated network busy try again later. Better Buisness ,,, Attorney General,,,, FCC ,,, here I come.
  6. Well here it is long past the Holiday's and still not getting my gig of download speeds that is in my contract that I am paying for. Most everyday my download speed high is abt 700 kbps and the lowest being intolerably below 200 kbps. I talked to some long winded tech tonight that stated that AVG,Norton, McAfee etc companies are not compatible with Wild Blue. That they cause most of the problems that consumers are experiencing with WB. OK any one want to have fun with that statement. The other thing when I asked why does Yahoo not accept email from Dishmail this same tech told some cocky story about a spammer who spammed Yahoo late December. Someone needs to tell these techs to get their stories straight. This started several months ago not recently. Also asked why when accessing Dishmail's web site does Explorer pop up with a warning about the certificate of this site...... advising to stop and not proceed. Needless to say this tech was very vocal ( enjoyed hearing himself talk) because he wouldn't stop talking long enough to listen to my questions and answer them with a knowledgeable answer just his opinion about each named company or server issue. I was told that my beam is closed in my area. So is that why my best download speed is 700 now? They say that unlike Hughes they cannot transfer you to another satellite because beams are geographically located per region. So since this is rural Texas does that mean we are permanently stuck with slow speeds and WB overselling bandwidth with false statements to the consumer? I think its time to contact the attorney general in my state.
  7. Keeping this on top just in case anyone else needs to know the address for the FCC in case they want to file a complaint against Wild Blue for their seemingly deceitful business policies.
  8. Tonight WB internet speeds were not consistent and hit ranges within minutes of as low as 8 kbps to 1000 kbps. Its Friday night and maybe the traffic is slow, who knows.

I gave up and now filed a complaint about Wild Blue with FCC ... here is the link to them if anyone should need it. http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cib/fcc475.cfm My email program has been trying to download email for more than 3 hours tonight and my email still stays at a percentage and won't totally download. I'm at the end of my rope with these people.
  10. I'm Sorry Tommy, you are just trying to help. As in earlier posts I stated that when ever dealing with the tech support they had me jumping through hoops in all the spy ware and optimization things to delay the fact that they have over sold their network. I am a dedicated researcher who protects my data and research that has taken years to compile. I am very computer savvy in protecting my work. I run all ad spy ware and optimization programs starting about 5 am on my computer everyday. Don't get me wrong I know that MS does not have the best defrag system but not nervy enough to try another one. Thank you How is the snow today?

  13. tedb3d I agree with you, there only seems to be one way to fight these corporate nimrods. We all need to keep complaining and stating the truth about our lousy service so that others who maybe goggling WB will actually see that there are dissatisfied customers out there who are being treated unfairly by this crappy company. Anyone and everyone who is dissatisfied and is not getting fairly treated or having their internet speeds fixed to even remotely resemble the package that they are paying for, please post your problems with WB here the more the merrier. I'm off Duluth beam 132 live in Texas and very dissatisfied with the quality of service and customer service that is provided. This is not what sales promised me when I signed up in August and no one is willing to fix it at WB.
  14. I have had 6 different service techs out here since August traipsing through my house. They changed out everything that they just installed in August. They want me to do the spy ware and ad ware programs etc etc etc. Jumped through hoops all for nothing when it is clearly WB overselling what they obviously don't have. We signed an agreement but somewhere they are not liable for the lack of providing their services. I'm working off of Duluth MN up link and live in Texas

  16. I call them almost daily and the techs tell me there is nothing they can do because WB controls it all and DISHNETWORK only services my contract. Both WB and Dish swore that they would maintain a good level of speeds even in peak periods. These were promised before I ever signed on the dotted line. I call Dish and the lower end techs and supervisors just throw up their hands and say they cant do anything and if I want to break my contract that they will waive fees. Ok, now I left Hughes to go to WB with the assurance that they would provide a better overall customer service and dependable service than Hughes did. So now I am out of the initial sign up fees and looking at the cost of someone else. Where does that leave me but out of pocket for hundreds of dollars for crap service and lies. Anyone else care to join in.
  17. Who has issues with WB every day between 4-11 pm cst? Or is it just our beam here where I live that has issues? I need to know what options as a consumer has in dealing absolutely degraded service for more than 8 hours per day with no hope in sight that they fix it and stop selling in my beam. This is an over sell problem and a lack of providing contractual services. Help anyone with an answer.
  18. Does anyone know who governs the satellite dish services? Wild blue over sells their beams and then does nothing to fix their lack of basic services. My last speed test was 86 kbps that is for the middle of the road package. I need to know what legal recourse does the consumer have when a contract is being violated by the provider? Please help.
  19. it is 9:14 cst here and this is what my internet speed for the middle WILD BLUE account that costs 69.99 before taxes does each and every evening and this is a lot better speed than just 10 minutes ago that was at 14 kbps but would never finish loading.

I have also been seeing the same problems coming off the Duluth beam, I have been a customer of WB since August, previously Hughes (customer service and lousy service ran me off) Dish assured me that all the issues that I had suffered through with Hughes would be a thing of the past. Well installed signed the 2 year contract and TADA lookie here again peak period outages because they have oversold again. Dish says acceptable dwnld speeds during peak hours is no less than 700 kbps well WB has no bottom line. It seems that you pay them and they are happy and couldn't care less weather or not they provide a quality service. That is my experience and opinion in dealing with them. When they are the only game in town they have the monopoly to hold your head under water and laugh all the way to the bank. Very frustrated and getting more irate each day. Who else has this problem with Dish/Wild Blue.
  21. WILD BLUE has not been dependable for me where I live. Most of the time my speeds run below 200 Kbps each evening for more than 7 hours. Today its a little better but up and down.
