  1. thanks, but it doesnt work with vista, like the program is sortof like a remote desktop, but only for you internet connection? i guess a proxy server ...and also can i run an ftp server and this at the same time?? ( you have to choose between the 2 when u type in my ip or something like that)
  2. I currently have an FTP server on my desktop with Serv-u, so when i type in my ip address the server comes up. now i would also like to have a program that will act as a proxy, tunneling my internet connection through. i know there are programs that do this, i just would like to know the reccommended one, and if u can run it at the same time as the ftp server. i am looking for something like i type in the ip address, and it gives me an option of either the file server or internet tunnel. thanks
  3. MSN says it cannot connect because internet explorer cannot access the internet, and it tells me to check the browsers ability to connect. but i cant do that because internet explorer isnt working. I can open internet explorer in no add on mode, and it cant display any webpages
  4. its just my computer it seems, and just with msn and winamp. is this because internet explorer isnt working (everytime i start it,it emediatly says it stopped working)
  5. I just changed over to a static ip with xplornet. my xbox works fine, and my computer can browse webpages through opera and firefox, dont know about ie because it is screwed right now. Msn does not work and winamp says "this feature requires an internet connection to connect" for internet radio, but if i manually download the stream from the radio station website, it works. Msn works on my computer downstairs, any ideas?? thanks
  6. Thanks for your help, I have figured out the problem. For some reason ever since they fixed the tower, i now need a static ip adress.
  7. The Xbox live test says i have an open NAT, and heres the settings i put in the router page http://imagecloset.com/view7/ec86461b27b775945f64ccf4a94934b3/xboxlive.jpg Is that right? and it made me specify a ip adress for the console, but depending on how many computers are on the network that ip could be different...any way to fix that? and could it be a problem on there end?
  8. Hello, been coming here for a while but just decided to register, i have xplornet wireless (ontario hydro telecom) 3Mbps connection, no complaints about the speed :::.. Download Stats ..::: Download Connection is:: 2605 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 318 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main) Test Time:: 2007/12/09 - 7:52pm Bottom Line:: 45X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 3.22 sec Tested from a 2992 kB file and took 9.407 seconds to complete Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 96.75 % faster than the average for host (6.50) D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-ASE6TZ1HN User Agent:: Opera/9.24 (Windows NT 6.0; U; en) [!] but for the last few days, the internet has been flickering in and out, so i called them and after a long battle about them trying to blame it on my router, they finally realized that the tower needed equipment replaced. So now the internet is working again, all fine, xbox live can sign in, but cant play any online games. the error message depends on the game, but usually its something like "cannot connect to host". I have a Dlink WBR-2310, the xbox is hardwired, and i just updated the firmware on the router from 1.02 to 1.04, it might be the router, but i can't seem to find an option in the menu that would hinder xbox live useless...thanks for your help
