Dway had some bad weather today over NOC and service/signal strength was on and off all day and still is bad tonight..

In Nevada on SatMex5 I get an 82 on freq 1050 and a 68 on 1270 using the same dish. I have 2 modems, one a 6000 and the other a 7xxx..

My upload is alright but my download is capped at around 1000 to give other users more bandwidth.. But I'm selfish and want more..

Didn't mean to tweak you needy.. My bad, wrong SpeeD test.. Charter doesn't have all the answers though.. I just happen to have a 7xxx modem here that will about double cable upload speed any time during the day on 512 rate. I thought this was the childs board?

That's even faster down than my 7xxx modem on CE.

Testmy.net has the best servers for bench mark testing. The others often load down with too many users and are slower.

I just had Charter installed Tuesday. They gave me an Ambit modem model 60678EU. The speeds are up to par so far. The picture don't look like your modem though.

Actually, if you have nothing else DW is a buy at $60 per month. I have a relative that works for the "govment" dealing with satellites. She says a couple of wide bandwidth connections on one transponder can be worth 20 to 30k a month per transponder. OK, for DW to eek out a profit they need to load every transponder to the max. That's where we sit now but I don't need to tell everybody here that.

Verizon is 3rd world out here in the middle of NV. Not even caller ID.. :haha:

My Charter advertised speeds or max speeds are 3000/256. I'd guess yours are the same remotewizz...

This is from the DW6000 users manual. I had this on my drive. I have charter-pipeline as of today for a trial period so I'm temporarily locked out also with this charter modem. Ask me if I care..

My DW6000 modem is on SM5 1070 and for the past year or so has always worked well. I have a beta 7700 here on a different SM5 freq that works well also on the same consumer dish. 70 to 80 signal on both.

mreardon, it might be a pointing problem. Are you sure it's AMC3?

The installer put Charter in today. I'm still running Dway on my other computer so a comparison is in order. So far at 6 pm it looks good...

If Wildblue will let people run uncapped at first we are going to see some great speedtests. I know they had some problems in beta so the jury is still out. I hope they do well so we can open up the bandwidth in DW.

Yeah, you know that hackers are always trying to come up with something. The latest MAC OS X 10.4 Tiger has been getting great reviews, and with that being known, some coder will target it just to see if he can disrupt it's shine.

Actually, the reason I don't have a current virus program,

I spin the chamber with my Mac and know almost certainly the chambers are empty. Problem is the Mac hackers will be here sooner than we think.. But for now...

How about a choice for NONE?
