The problem isn't with your ISP - it's with a service on your computer.
To fix it,
1. Click Start >> Run >> and type "services.msc" and click OK.
This will take you to the list of Services hidden in the Administrative Tools.
2. In the list of services, click "DNS Client".
3. Make sure that the Status column displays Started and that the Startup Type column displays Automatic.
4. If the service is not set to Started or if the startup type for the DNS Client service is not set to Automatic, follow these steps:a. Right-click DNS Client, and then click Properties.
b. In the DNS Client Properties dialog box, click the General tab, and then click Automatic in the Startup type list.
c. Click Start, click Apply, and then click OK.
Basically the issue here is just that your DNS client isn't even running, therefore you can't flush it! )
thanks. i'll try it and see if it works

Get to network settings from control panel, when you get there , youll see whatever connectionr u have, right click in the field, your options wil be 2 create a new one as well as bridge conections. You can bridge by highligting two or more of the shown connections. Are u sure your existing device is good? I would go grab a cheap ethernet card if your not able to try ceating the new connection. Just play around a bit, familairize yourself w/ as much as u can.
I bought my card last year. I really think has something to do with my ISP (SmartBro)
-
I had this happen once, i went into network settings, and created a new connection, it seems to me i either had to bridge the two, or i had a bad network device. Try this, post up your results.
I don't understand how to do that. I tried creating a new connection but I cannot successfully create one. What are the options that I have to choose?
-
Uninstall the network device, restart, then re install it. Try that, if it doesn't work, post up, I'll get back as soon as I can.
I've tried that already but it didn't resolve it

I'm surprised that after 80 views, noone has replied with a solution here

Just recently, I received an sms from SmartBro saying that the basestation in our area (Meycauayan) will undergo maintenance. I wasn't able to surf the 'Net until around 10 pm. I then noticed that I keep getting disconnected from the Internet and I'm now unable to download files from uTorrent. I then tried to do use the basic repair function of my connection but I keep getting this error message: "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Clearing the DNS cache. For assistance, contact the person who manages your network". I also tried to disable and reenable my connection but I'm still encountering the same problem. I even tried to do it in the command prompt. ipconfig /release and /renew works fine but whenever I try to flush the dns (ipconfig /flushdns), I keep getting this error: "Could not flush the DNS Resolver Cache: Function failed during execution.". I don't have time to call SmartBro so I sent them an email instead. I still haven't received any response from them. I hope I provided all the information that you need to help me with my problem. Thanks in advance.

uninstall google web accelerator and that will fix your problem with proxy.pac
is that really necessary? is there any workaround to this aside from doing that?
-
yeah. everything's fine here except for my smartbro connection
-
I cannot use any of the proxies. Whenever I go to Internet Options in IE7 it shows under LAN settings that the box "use automatic configuration script" is checked with these values: http://localhost:9100/proxy.pac. I tried unchecking it and checked the box next to the proxy section and restarted IE but it still came up checked when I went back to see the settings again. Is anyone encountering the same issue? Is Smartbro preventing users to use proxies now?

johnmartin9199: what did you do to fix your slow connection? Share it with other users so that we can experience a better connection.

2-3 days. they also call me up at least thrice.
They sent me a reply today and gave me a service request number and told me that someone will call me. How long do they usually call after they send you an email? Should I call them using the reference number that they gave me or should I wait?
-
any development?
they still haven't replied to me. I emailed them once a few months ago but never received a response as well. How long do they usually reply to emails?
-
^thanks. I sent them an email. Hopefully, they reply right away.
-
that must have helped for a clearer line of sight for your antenna to the base station. email smartbro and encourage them to upgrade to WR512 to suffice the already congested access points in your base station.
can't I just call them and request for it? Does it really have to be an email? What's their email address?

coolbuster: do you still have any plans of releasing FDC?

your connection to color code 152 is the answer why you have slow speed. the RSSI is not that high but you are sharing it with 86 users that solves the mystery.
i already askedthem to go to our place but all they did was add more height to my antenna. They did not do a rehoming because according to them, the other basestation is already congested. What should I do now?
-
Coolbuster: I've already posted my recent settings after they adjusted my antenna. Can you check if there were changes or do I need to ask them to go back here again?
-
i think the charge was for the pole. they extended that hoping to compensate for your far distance from the base station, and a better line of sight between your antenna and the access point.
did they not change anything in your canopy configuration? please post your AP Eval page now so we can see the difference after the pole extension.

none i think so. its smartbro who will pay their contractors to do that for you.
@ FB, where have you been? hottestarcher is almost 6,000 feet far from his base station so he wanted a re homing. as posted he is scheduled a field visit today.
They charged me 450 because according to them they need to add height to my connection. So they added another "tubo" but still my connection is slow. It's as if nothing happened. They didn't change the basestation where I was getting my signal from.

my antivirus detects the program as harmful for my pc. do we really need to download the tcp/ip patch and be infected with a virus?
