the easiest way is to call them more often. tip: when in *1888, press 1 for new applications so that you will not wait too long before they answer your call.
What do you think they'll do about it? They didn't even get my phone number. How will they inform me if a rehoming will be done? It just gets slower every minute

it depends on the availability of the contractor's technical staff. yes you will lose connection but not long. it will take at least an hour.
ok. I'm currently talking to someone from Smartbro. She's really pissing me off
They had me perform some unneccessary troubleshooting steps and even wanted to test my connection from 2wire.com
She said that she has "escalated" my concern and that my request for "rehoming" is still subject for approval
She also wanted me to monitor my connection if there are any changes, I asked her how I will find out if my request has been approved, she said that I'll notice the changes in my connection if the support group finds out that there's no problem then they won't do anything about it. What now?
-
simple. try to look for another smart cellsite in your area.
if they ask you, tell them that you know that your antenna is currently beamed to a base station which is too far away.
during rehoming, they will:
- point or redirect your antenna to another smart tower (base station)
- register your account there, and
- find the appropriate color code.
How long does a rehoming usually take? Will I lose connection while they're doing that?
-
i suggest you find out if there's another base station (smart cellsite) nearest you. if there is, call smartbro customer service at *1888 right away and request for a rehoming.
How would I know if there's another basestation near our area? If I call SmartBro do you think they will lie if I ask if there'a another basestation? If I ask and request for a rehoming, will they decline? What if they ask me why I want to have a rehoming? What should I tell them? Sorry if I have alot of questions. Thanks.

these are the ones that can be disabled in startup. btw, do not run ym if you're doing a speed test.
can you possibly post your Canopy AP Eval page?
I don't run YM during speed test. I've already disabled the other programs on startup using winpatrol. Here's my canopy AP Evaluation page:

Here's a speed test that I've done at 8:00 a.m. Again, it's a bit fine because it's still early but as soon as it reaches 9:00 a.m it's really slow.
I hope you can help me more with this information. Thanks

Coolbuster:
My smartbro has never reached it's maximum performance and I always have a slow download speed during daytime. It sometimes cancels the download due to slow connection :idiot2:Only on offpeak hours can I download large files. I've done the 20 steps several times, run tcpip optimizer, used proxies and I even applied your CSS but I still have a slow connection. I would want to take advantage of my broadband connection mainly by downloading large files and not just browsing. The only thing running on my startup is ESET and I have included my running processes for you to review it. I hope you can help me with this. Thanks.
Here's my current connection speed:
this test was done around 3:45 a.m. I'm averaging way below that during day time.
Here are my running processes:

canopy setup+cfosspeed+cablenut+tcp optimizer+my ipno my consistent speed is 1000-1500Kbps
what's cfosspeed? how do you do that?
-
^what did you do to get that speed? care to share?
-
coolbuster: can you now share your secret to everyone?
-
^that didn't work for me. it didn't even start the download after I pasted the link for the file.
-
ever since I started using proxy, I'm unable to download anything from rapidshare. It always tell me that I am currently downloading a file but I am not. Tried deleting cookies but same results. I wouldn't want to disable my proxy. Please help

-
@coolbuster, i did that. pero parang pinahina ata ang connection ko oh!
the same thing happened to me
-
I need help with step 2. Can you provide detailed instructions on how to do/run that? Thanks
-
it seems like coolbuster's the only one who's willing to share his CCS

@hottestarcher
Hi, just want to ask if you have tried changing APs / Color Codes..
I don't know what those are.
-
^since you have friends from their tech support team, can you please let them know that I'm a dissatisfied customer who needs his connection upgraded/fixed
-
emailing them is one of the best options. there must be something wrong in your configurations. anyways, try this procedure and post your speed after.
http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2006/04/12/slow_computer_speed_up_your.htm
I've already emailed them. Have you tried emailing them before? How long before they usually reply and what difference does it make from calling them? BTW, here's my results after performing your 20 steps again with a proxy of proxy.smartbro.net. I've also followed the steps from that link:
:::.. Download Stats ..:::
Download Connection is:: 61 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 97 kB)
Download Speed is:: 7 kB/s
Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (Main)
Test Time:: 2008/01/18 - 4:41pm
Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 146.29 sec
Tested from a 97 kB file and took 12.906 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 35.67 % of your hosts average (1.13)
D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-TGM0VXDAW
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; InfoPath.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) [!]
As you can see, my connection is still slow for someone who has performed the 20 steps and uses a proxy. I don't want to wait for days before they reply to message. I hope you guys can post some other steps that I can try in fixing this without customer service's help. I'm not that familiar with Canopy and I've only changed a couple of things under QOS but still no go. Any other suggestions?
-
a speed below 150 is awful.
now, email customer care: [email protected]
inform them of your problem and attach a screenshot or a link to your test results.
Is there any other solution to it aside from contacting them? God knows how many times I've tried to do that but they said that my connection is fine.

@ hottestarcher
thanks for posting your programs, i hope you did not hide anything.
recommendations:
1) the only program which should be left in your startup is NOD32.
2) use IE7 for speedtesting.
I've already modified my startup programs before I posted it here and my antivirus is the only active software. I'm also using Internet Explorer 7. Unfortunately, I still have the same results. In case you're wondering, I've called customer service several times and they always say that there's no problem with my connection. Please help
How To Tweak Smart BRO WiFi
in Smart Bro (Wi-fi)
Posted
Someone from SmartBro called me on my cellphone but I failed to answer it. However, they texted me that someone will be arriving at our home tomorrow to fix my connection. I hope that once they're done rehoming my connection, I'll have a faster and stable connection.
