  1. 15/2 plan. The only speed test on this site that i am not getting accurate results from is the upload speed test on both the members server and the default. On other sites like i mentioned above i get 1.83Mpbs
  2. hey halobox would you reccomend i use my d link wired router with my linksys wireless router connected to it. Or do you think i should eliminate the d link and just use the linksys. The problem i had with the linksys is if your sopposed to connect your computer to the internet without a router before you connect it i did not know how I would do that using verzion fios. Thanks 4 your time!
  3. for some reason my upload has never gone above .8 on this site. On other sites my upload is usually 1.82. I read about why the upload speed might not be accurate on this site for upload speeds offered by verizon fios but others have gotten accurate scores on this site so i was wondering why this happens to me? anyone?
  4. id hate to start another topic. Hopefully somone with FIOS can tell me the homepage we use to access videos, games, and all that extra stuff we get for being FIOS customers. Much thanks!
  5. i got it all set up. The problem i was having was I was tring to set up the network settings for PPPOe. The router already handles this so therfore there was no need to change any settins on the network adapter.
  6. Has anybody set up their PS2 network settings using Verizon FIOS. If you have could you please tell me what you did to make it work? It will not pass the internet connection test. I have entered in my username and pass and it still will not work correctly.

Verizon tech had to install the D-Link. You dont have to be too descriptive as i should already know how to install it. My upload stays at .8 too
  8. Well I have yet to experience any major problems with this Linksys Modem. I have it connected to my Linksys Wireless G router also. I dont know why but im located on the east coast, VA and i can never get stable speeds when running multiple speed tests on this site except very rarly. I also found that its most accurate when i run the "larger" speed test link. I love this site no doubt thought! This is my result from just now, and this is the highest so far ive gotten with this linksys BEFMU10. :::.. 9. well i found out a couple things. I do have a static IP address, however the error code for the SW line is my modem isnt getting the new firmware that is getting sent to my modem. I gave up and bought a a Linksys BEFCMU10 V. 3 today and so far no issues but we will see.
  10. ill also add there isnt any errors yet today, i had my modem and computer turned off all night and its been on for about 45minutes and my speeds are great. Im leaning toward whatever this means its causing a problem or causing a issue thats causing the problem.
  11. Ive had this problem ever since my cable was installed at my new house which has been about 2 months. This is my second SB5100 modem. The problem i have is that i cannot keep constant download speeds. Signal strengh is great and i never have issues with upload speeds. I have had a brand new line installed from the box outside directly to my wall and directly to my modem. I have looked into everything possible. I came accross this yesterday and really dont know what it means or if it could be causing the problem. This is my log file for my SB5100. Notice each day i get the same exact errors its never different and there isnt a day in which these errors arnt listed. This is just part of my log file from the last few days. 1970-01-01 00:00:11 3-Critical 0x040D9A2C DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. 2004-10-24 23:22:38 6-Notice 0x041D02B4 SW Download INIT - Via NMS 2004-10-24 21:02:54 3-Critical 0x04E33A74 Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out 1970-01-01 00:00:13 3-Critical 0x040D9A2C DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response. 2004-10-24 05:21:55 6-Notice 0x041D02B4 SW Download INIT - Via NMS 2004-10-24 03:24:16 4-Error 0x041D03E0 SW Upgrade Failed Before Download - Server not Present 2004-10-24 03:22:36 6-Notice 0x041D02B4 SW Download INIT - Via NMS 2004-10-24 01:24:50 4-Error 0x041D03E0 SW Upgrade Failed Before Download - Server not Present 2004-10-24 01:23:11 6-Notice 0x041D02B4 SW Download INIT - Via NMS 2004-10-23 23:25:14 4-Error 0x041D03E0 SW Upgrade Failed Before Download - Server not Present 2004-10-23 23:23:35 6-Notice 0x041D02B4 SW Download INIT - Via NMS 2004-10-23 18:53:53 5-Warning 0x040DC13C DHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid in response

  14. Hello i was wondering if anybody could help me with my problem. Using the command promt i ping many ip address, mostly yahoo.com google.com and so on. Most of the time the ping times come out very good about 10-40ms but then again somtimes they come out to 120-130 and sometimes they get timed out. This also goes for when i ping my gateway address i sometimes get a request timeout. Now i wouldnt be complaining if this way once a day but the majority of the time a little under half this happens. I notice a very high loss in speed. Also what seems a little akward is at 130-330 in the morning my speed are great however i still receieve request timeouts when pinging certain sites such as google.com ext and get a lot of packet loss. What solutions do I have and what can be the problem. I understand maybe a bad signal but somtimes when i see i only get a great connection in the morning makes me think otherwise. I dont know much but my guess is that i have a number of problems all together. A cox communications guy has been to my house twice in the last week.
  15. thanks for explaning that for me. I just talked to them and they had me ping one of there ip address's and it came out with 70% packet loss so they will be coming out to my house for the third time in 1 week.

This thread has become a tech problem if you wouldnt mind moving it to the correct forum. If it is ok here than thats fine too. Anybody can explain? These tests were run on two different computers to insure they are correct and each computer was connected one at a time.
  17. tech finally came and found out the end of the coaxical connector was damaged. The electrical foam was not level and therefore made a signal loss. What the heck am i talking about i dont know but hey its what he said. Well anyways i still dont reach speeds anywhere to as close as i posted above and it seems that my new "normal" speed as of now is about 2.5-3.5Mbps. The reason i post this was because i find it really helps to see the problem and solution to problems like this if you have the same issue yourself.
  18. I must say it isnt a issue with this site because at those time which my connecetion is running incredibly slow i find it very difficult to play online gaming and page loads are very very slow. I have talked to about 20+ cox techs and they all seem to have a different way of telling me that there is nothing they can do except send out a tech to my house in which he never showed up today! I love cox!
  19. If your interested thats Cox Communication Fairfax VA Premier Account. I do have a slight problem which is i only get speeds like that 1/5 of the time. Otherwise i usually get .8 Mbps! Anybody know what could possibly cause this huge gap decrease. I will get slow speeds .8 - 1.3 Mbps for the biggest part of the time and then every other day for about 5-6 hours i will get speeds such as what i posted above, 5.6Mbps
