ok try this restAart the computer and try to go into SAFEMODE WITH NETWORKING AND TRY THE SPEED TEST AGAIN

do u have a cable or dsl connection

TRY GOING ON LINKSYS WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD THE LATEST FIRMWARE TRY CHANGING OUT THE NETWORK CABLE OR TRY THIS.........IF YOU ARE RUNNING WINDOWS XP GO TO THE CONTROL PANEL AND KAME SURE THAT U SEE ICONS THEN GO TO THE DEVICE MANAGER SCROLL DOWN TILL YOU SEE THE NETWORK DEVICES CLICK ON THE ONE THAT IS NOT THE WIRELESS AND IF THERE IS ADVANCED OPTION CLICK ON IT SCROLL DOWN YOU MIGH SEE SOME OPTIONS IN THERE THE ONE U NEED TO CHANGE IS MEDIA TYPE OR CONNTECTION TYPE CHANGE IT TO 100BASE TX FULL_DUPLEX OR 100 BASE TX GOOD LUCK

ok this is an easy one if you are using windows xp go to control panel make sure that you see icons go to the network connections right click on your connection which should be lan or wan go down to where it says properties you will see some protocols go down to ivp4 click properties it will say optain ip address automatically select the option for user defind type in the following..................IP ADDRESS........192.168.1.1.......SUBNET MASK.........CLICK ON IT ONCE AND IT WILL FILL IN THEN TYPE.........................FOR DEFAULT GATEWAY..............192.168.1.2 DONT BOTHER WITH THE DNS CLICK OK ON EVERY THING GO INTERNET EXPLORER AND TYPE IN 192.168.1.1 SEE IF THAT WORKS  GOOD LUCK
