I need some help narrowing down my Capture results in Wireshark to just emails and some other files. Anyone who knows anything about Wireshark any information would be much appreciated.
  4. I've been trying to use the Telnet application in dos to connect to computers but im having some trouble, everytime i try to connect to a IP address it says Connecting To xxx.xxx.x.x...Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: C onnect failed. I've tryed multiple IP addresses and same result. Do you need certain port forwarding on your router? Do you need the computer to be on at all times? Any other information would be much appreciated.
  5. Hello, i was wondering how you use the netstat application in dos. I believe it is a network protocol analyzer? So i wanted to know if it displayed all outgoing and incoming protocols and the IP addresses as well. Please Explain?
  6. General Question Here: Lately i've been trying to learn alot about computers and i thought it was common belief that the internal ip address of an computer never changes, that it is always the same. Could someone verify/correct me on this? Because i just read an article saying that your ISP (dont know what that is either please explain) changes your IP everytime you log back onto the internet. Please help :S

  8. Hi, I've recently been introduced to tracing emails which is fairly simple, you just find the orginating IP address. And use a site like Whatismyipaddress.com to trace it. But lately when i've been messing around with it and tracing my friends (whom i know where they live) its been putting me in obscure locations like Kansas ( I do not live anywhere near kansas) I want to know if there is an easier way to trace emails or if I can make it precise and accurate everytime. I'm almost postive they are not using proxy servers either. unless you can use a proxy without knowing it? Anyways please offer info.
  9. Hello All, I'm having problem with forwarding my ports on my MIFI 2200, im trying to forward port 23 which is used in the Telnet application. If someone could help me out, it would be much appreciated. THanks!
