well it has since stopped raining and everything seems to be running fine, so i called the tel company again and they ran the line test but say there is still noise in the line so the tech should be here somewhere in the next 4 hours. as soon as he does his thing and leaves i will be posting his findings and what he did to fix it...who knows it just my help someone like me later on :

lol yes it is one of those combo modem router deals. i removed the 2 wireless comps from it when i started having problems. no change. i just spoke with tech support...again...and they said it is possible that is might be the modem but they wont know till they come out and check the lines. i called them to have them run the noise test again because i just replaced all the jacks and wires to everything in the house i also changed all the filters for the phones and such and they said the results were still the same. the house is only 18 years old and completly finished in such away that none of the wires from the box outside are visible anywhere inside the house. is it possible for the wires to just go bad? also it has been raining real bad here for 2 days...basicly the same time the issue started...could that have anything to do with it? i am just trying to make sure it isnt anything on my end or something so simple i wanna slap my self when they slap me a service bill lol. the box outside seems to have seen better days...if it is supposed to be air tight it is not by no means. im not sure if the rain getting in there would cause this problem. i thought if water got in there and shorted the wires out it would just fry my stuff i would be in "radio silence" if you will.

well i just replaced all the wires from the modem to the wall and to the pc. and periodicly the internet connection just disconnects. only takes a second or 2 for the connection to come back. but would that have anything to do with the wide range in the test scores or would that be something set in the pc or the modem itself?

i have a 6Mb/s line...i usually test at about 5Mb/s which im told is normal so...ok fine. my problem is as of late my internet is all over the place. i called tech and they said they would send someone out cuz it looks like a short in the line somewhere. after i got off the phone just for kicks i replaced my phone line to my modem.going to my modem page it shows a steady 6029 connection. i run the test and i get scores from 0.1Mb/s to 4Mb/s. i just am at a loss. any ideas? things i might chech to make it more stable? i am an avid gamer so my stability is very important. plz help and ty in advance
