  1. Turned out to be a phone jack issue... connection is blazing from my bedroom: :::.. 2. Hi all. I recently signed up for a 7mbps DSL service from Qwest and I'm having trouble getting anywhere near that. I'm getting the advertised speed when connected directly to the modem (Actiontec M1000), but not through my Belkin N-protocol router. The router obviously has the power and bandwidth for my connection speed, so why am I getting this: :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 969 Kbps about 0.97 Mbps (tested with 1024 kB) Download Speed is:: 118 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 497 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Upload Speed is:: 61 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2009/12/08 - 11:47pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WJM2PVXGI U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-Q03NK8SB6 User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091109 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.5 [!] As you can see, I run Linux, so the issue won't be with registry tweaks and virus scans. It's probably a basic hardware or settings issue. Thanks in advance for any help. Even if you can't solve my problem, just a direction to go in would be great, I should be able to figure it out from there.
