  1. SeveN86 . Is your system grounded? This may be on direcway's end. Try disconnecting your 2 coax cables hooking into the back of you DW6000. Do them 1 at a time so that you do not get them mixed up. Touch your finger to the cable for about 3 seconds. If your system is not grounded you may have static buildup. This may get rid of it temporarily.

  2. Hello dixievideo and welcome to the forum. Lets make sure of some very basic setting. First Internet Explorer is much better to use with direcway. Now in IE make sure you have these settings

    Tools

    Internet Options

    Connections

    Lan Settings(screenshot attached) make sure your settings are the same.

    Now click on Advanced(screenshot attached) make sure everything is the same here also.

    Next follow the direction in this thread.http://www.testmy.net/topic-1703 You will be able to download TCP Optimizer form a link in that thread.Now lets try a upload tweak found in this thread. http://www.testmy.net/topic-1773

    Please be very careful when editing your registry. Make a restore point before doing any of these suggestions. I hope this helps you and post back with your new speeds.

  3. Well the excitement became to much and I had to try your new program. This test was done using the consumer file. Below are my results. A couple of post above this were my speeds with TCP Optimizer.

    :::.. Upload Stats ..:::

    After restoring TCP Optimizer settings I get these results. Although I know that internet congestion has a huge part in these test, it appears some of us are going to have to commit to a cablenut setting a keep it for a couple of days to compare. Sattellite seems to be so variable.

    At least for now it appears that TCP Optimizer is doing better for my system. That is not to say that cablenut will not be better for others using satellite.

  4. Just for comparison with the new cablenut. These are run with TCP Optimizer. This is intended to have something to compare to during the same time frame.

    :::.. Upload Stats ..:::

  5. Vanburen, I was able to get the results below once. Although I have had several in the 1300Kbps range. Most of my test seems to be in the 900'sKbps. I have the consumer account.

    Bottom Line:: 29 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 5.09 second(s)

    I know this does not help to answer your question, just my experience. I think I had seen somewhere the DW6000 was caped at 1000Kbps. I will look around to see if I can find anything to help you.

  6. Hello visionlogic and welcome to the forum. First since you have the DW6000 do not look for the kind of download speed that deerkill10 has. He has a 4000 which is much faster that the DW6000. You see Direcway can control the speed of the DW6000 much more than the 4000. As for you proxy question I am afraid I will not be able to help with that since you are talking about using a router. Signal strength varies from each location depending on which bird you are on as well as how much time you installer spent to get you a max. signal. You signal will not effect your browsing experience or speed. It will however effect how fast you get disconnected due to weather, such as rain or snow. I would recommend that you use TCP Optimizer and set it up using this thread. You will find a specially tweaked version within the thread.

  7. VanBuren, I have used Cablenut for my satellite connection before with some success. I currently use TCP Optimizer. It would be interesting to see some satellite users trying some cablenut settings. Any chance you may work on a file for Sat?

  8. Well my speed before did not show. It was approx. 16. I have changed my setting back to 20 and 40. Here are the results with those settings up and down.

    This appears to show that each system is different. Wow you would think it would be closer. Who knows. Tweaks I am running now are.....

    Rev's TCP Optimizer

    Upload tweak>>>>

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    SYSTEM

    CURRENTCONTROLSET

    SERVICES AFD

    DWORD VALUE----PARAMETERS

    DEFAULTSENDWINDOW.......b000

    I do believe each system is different, but some of you may want to try this. You should know that I have experienced a slowdown using different tweaks from different websites. I repeat these are the only tweaks I use. I just did a complete restore of my system so everything is at default EXCEPT for the above mentioned tweaks.

  9. The upload tweak may not work for everyone, but for me it does. I did make a change to it. Instead of using 18000 or 17a00. I use b000. It works for me.

    :::.. Upload Stats ..:::
