but thanks for the input
-
yeah, I've done that several times made no difference

d-link dgl-4300 all the way. has gigabit lan ports. 108Mbps 802.11g wireless. with a nice antennae. and just change the router's IP to 192.168.1.1 in the config. Also it has a really nice web configuration to forward ports. I don't know about the other question
-
[glow=red,2,300]So quit yer griping already![/glow]
agreed.

yeah, wireless internet service is cool no matter what speed. I'm posting now with t-mobile internet service, been using it for the past few days no problems, on the edge network. just a little slower than they said. but using a phone as a modem to a laptop, usual speeds from 90-200kbps tmodns.net
-
I just got the t-mobile full internet stuff, with an mda. And it's connected via usb as a modem to my laptop, they said it should do atleast 480Kbps on the edge network. But I only get 90-150Kbps. And I checked t-mobile to see if the edge network is available here.
Does anyone know how to get it to work better? the access point is set as wap.voicestream.com (that's what the store put it as)

nice, I was just looking through mine, and checked the rarest one on ebay. An a-rod 1993 card. going for $500
nice just found another one. a '94 a-rod going for $600
pretty good deal

*This offer is available in the U.S. only while supplies last. USB drive is 16MB in size. Limit one per customer. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
well, it was only 16mb so not too bad

Dual T-1? Dual T-1 would be 3 Mbps with nobody else on the network. Your school has more than a dual T-1.
yeah, that's what I said too. But the tech guys said we have dual T-1 lines, but max can only get 1.5mbps each. Maybe they have 4 lines. But also it's usually much slower, seeing as each person has a computer connected on wireless, playing lan games and what not

I'm on a dual P4 3.4Ghz computer and 1gb of ram, nice connection as well
Last Result:
Download Speed: 4243 kbps (530.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 5032 kbps (629 KB/sec transfer rate)
dual T1, not bad for high school

get the 10/1mbps same price for the rest of the year from road runner same company as that from brighthouse, if you need to upload things a lot it's useful.
-
I am enjoying this, I don't have a home phone line, and no one calls me so I can make long distance calls for free, and good quality. Also the vanity number is pretty cool 0001234567
-
cool, I called them up and said I just take it to a local place and they'll fix it for free.
-
yeah, I also got the 2 year warranty from compusa, you think I should just ask them to put in news fans? or sensors something along the lines of that.
-
Anyone else have a Toshiba Satellite A75? Well you'll probably have the same problem, but it keeps overheating and shutting down. I used to have it up for 4-5 weeks with high load and daily use, and now only hours with the same load. Also the fans don't even go on high before it shuts down, just the normal speed. Anyone know how to make the temperature higher to shut down for over heating? I can't find it in the BIOS.
edit: it has a P4 HT 3.2Ghz processor, but I put it down to 1.8Ghz due to it getting too hot at 3.2Ghz

I don't know
-
do you have an excellerator, or something like that?
-
It's probably cached, try to clear your cache on internet explorer by tools, internet options, clear cache. Or try another speed test, like http://speakeasy.net/speedtest/

central florida, Orlando. It's the fastest available here, plus only rr, bellsouth, and att are the only ISPs that I know in this area
