  1. well you are not alone, let me break it down for you right here, this is the true explanation: Ever since comcast began to add their digital phone service, their lines have been overloaded. Due to FCC regulations, comcast can no longer rent fiber lines from other companies because they must be in control of all their equipment. Comcast is trying to run 6 or 7 county's internet on 1(one) fiber line into Los Angeles. If you haven't noticed yet, comcast recently bought out Adelphia. Why you ask? To gain access to their fiber lines so that comcast doesn't have to install their own. They did this to remove the pressure at all the bottlenecked points in the lines. One other thing. Verizon has "accidentally" been cutting comcasts lines while they try to install their new Fios service which offers 15mbps for $45 a month. That is another possible reason why your service might be to crap. I am going on my 12th technician to come out and test my lines. How lovely! I think I'm going to get one of those nice modems with a router and wireless internet built into them. They are quite spiffy. Post this on any other forums you visit to help everyone comprehend what is happening to comcast and our internet. Thank you for reading and goodnight. -iwa100
