  1. During these past rainy days around the metro (and most) of the islands I had the oportunity to notice something quite interesting (if not dumb). The Emergency Weather Warning interrrupts the cable signal, and I would expect this as normal for a regular cable tv subscriber line..but with powerlink also?... My question is: Is it normal for cable internet service lines to broadcast the emergency warning and interrupt the service? is it just another flop on onelink's side?

YEs that is allowed by the FCC (Federal Communications Commision)

  2. Hi Folks,

I have 1 220V outlet and bout 18  110V, and were # 1 in America with $.19 KWH, that means i pay nearly $400 monthly for electric bill, Obviosly estimated, i only consume bout 60% of the bill, even less if i count that i have been out of house for bout 2 months in the last 8 months.

Beware if u live in PR, PREPA has admitted they charge bout 11% more to legal customers due to ilegal connections. PLEASE...THEY ARE RIPPING US... Si hay Puertorros aqui hagan saber al mundo que el gobierno nos roba nuestro dinero...Y PODEMOS PROBARLO

  3. Hi folks,

while im glad Captain Sauce resolved his problem, configuring firewall as Swimmer said its the first thing to do when setting up a network. By the way DNS preferred servers and Default gateway is not the same, DNS refers to domain name servers and default gateway refers to NAT network address translation, in order to fully go to static IP adressing you will have to (but not necesary) write in your ISP DNS in the spaces provided, also you will have to write in your gateway usually 192.168.0.X or 192.168.1.XX or even 10.10.0.XX  depending on the configuration you give to the router, in any case thats a class C network class c networks uses a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 or even 223.255.255.0 to 255.255.255.0  or a class B network will use a subnet 255.255.0.0.

At least for me. if i configure Preferred DNswith my gateway, no connection

  5. Hi, first you must know your incoming mail server (POP) and your outgoing mail server (SMTP) and the ports they use. if you know them post again for datailed instruccions if you dont know them then you must contact your ISP, that information is a must for setting an e mail account in outlook.

  6. Ok, lets keep it easy.

A wireless network adapter its basically a network card but uses wireless instead of a ethernet cable.

you will need a router, and a wireless network card for each desktop computer you want to connect to the internet. Also beware of signals obstruccions if you brothers room if far away or have concrete walls separating the rooms, my recomendation is a netgear router. A 54 Mbps router will do the job fine thats the 802.11g standard go with b&g compatible.

  9. Thats a good advice, akk your neighbor, if u live in bayamon you surely will get limited, Im really not having problems in a PC technician, but i do have a lot of trouble with come customers connections, onelink is not a good deal, and very expensive, when you have a connection speed of 1Mb and call for service all they do is tell you that speeds are not guaranteed and that 1 Mb is ok in peak, ONELINK SUCKS.

  10. Hi, they recently lowered it when it was Adelphia upload was 512Kb, when it was sold to onelink, the first thing they did was lower the download, and closed ports used for gaming and P2P and they also closed the newsgroups, so if you are planning on online gaming, or are a user of P2P networks, onelink is not for you.

  11. onelink seems to be doing better the last 2 weeks.
