I know i use to do this with previous os's

but some where along the line i forgot

the order of the steps

hey guys been a while

i came into this late but was looking to kinda do the same thing

didn't he say he couldn't access his router to change the IP

I have the same problem and i did all that renew release even regesterdns

but I believe my problem comes from not rebooting both computers and router in proper order

anyways I'm Gunna go ask my question(why all of a sudden many of my fellow adelphian's

are having so much trouble with opening a new HTML page) the connections fine once it's locked down

2 seconds later it takes 2 minutes just to bring up, say... goggle

well thanx to all and yes i was using the audio on board

i originally got a Catalina for my 5.1 surround unfortunately

i remove it in diagnosing my previous problem (INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR blue screen)

and just left it off

well so far so good i played gta san Andreas for more than 2 hours

until the new air conditioner i put in my room kicked on and surged the whole house

(tommarrow i be electrician)

of course do i need to say it

upon reboot got the old power error blue screen

i just let it set 15 min go through blue screen 2 or 3 times and

wallah  I'm up and running

you wouldn't have a fix for that would ya

any ways should i disable nvmcp.sys anyways or

is it already done by disabling the audio in the bios

As far as power issue i had dropped my laser mouse in the dogs water bowl twice

they have internal battery's both times stopped working for two weeks and started again

the wireless KB i had mentioned had receive a bent usb plug(crushed) and i spliced another

i purchased a saitek gaming KB but i am still using the wireless mouse (never used)that came with the original KB in question

now, I'm still using the same receiver i.e plugs

only the ps2 not the usb    time will tell

heres anew one to me

while doing all this i started using the mouse without ever plugging in the ps2 part of the receiver ,did,t realize till i installed new KB

i can see the mouse possably working with the KB side of the wiring( i mean they both would have to be very close in frequency) but how'd they  work simultaneously on only the usb plug

Woeeee!!!!!  i think i just answered my own question  possably shorting in between mouse and KB connector 

possably the solution to all problems

my roommate has a  Sony  vaio pcg643l that has problems

the bios recognizes the 30 gb hd just fine

after u xit setup you would get a screen cannot find hd

i noted the bios called it device 0

but i think the os was looking for device 1

anyways some how by putting a 98 boot disk in (not my fix)

let the computer see the hd    hence all was fine

last night

error :  Windows could not startbecause the following file is missing or corrupt

                    WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM

now i know the fix (recovery copy file from cd etc.....)

setup was doing it's 5 minute pre diver setup and just before the recovery option screen

i got this window

                                      WINDOWS RECOVERY COULD NOT START PROPERLY

                                          DUE TO MISSING FILE

                                          INTELIDE.SYS

couldn't find any documentation on this

summer is here:

well i  loaded xp64

no drivers for printer, scanner,sound card(Catalina or mother board)

just cant do with out sound

reinstalled xp sp1

had lots of problems (same one blue screen)

after last clean install all was great for about 10 days

then yesterday tripped over mouse cord and got

      Internal_power_error

            blue screen

but this time i waited and it finally booted clean

about 3 hours later i did a install of nvidia mixer(not using Catalina any more)

and blue screened upon reboot

i decided to investigate

removed light on CD ROM,160 GB sata

and (not that it makes a difference)split the 2 power cords coming from

power supply more equally amongst my fans and drives

checked all wiring with meter( no shorts)

so far so good

  Q:  Is 2 DVDs,

            1 carom,

            2 sata hd(does 10,000 rpm draw more power)

            1 ide hd

            4 fans

              1 blue light(removed also)

              nvidia fx 5700ve 256mb video(from what i read this takes a lot)

is this to much for 450 power supply?

The lady asked where i was doing my tests from, when i told her

here we go (i need to explain)

I've been in the process of designing a full blown game chair for about 12 years

I'm on the third one

easyest way to describe : the decorum is like the weight sets in the gyms with the 3 or 4 inch

square metal

chair: car or maybe van(has captins arms)on tracks

under tracks is wood plank that extends to ether side for joy and flight stick(will replace soon with metal)

kb holder to left swivels

mouse to right swivels

rear speakers mounted on 1 inch square metal coming from under  wood plank at each corner

so the can swivel about 100 degrees horizontal(the chair sits back at 20 degree angle)and the 3 foot

riser lets them swivel at (well,all the way to the floor)

front speakers only mounted to monitor(still working on it

base(midland surround sound ) is in another computer Case to right front,

computer to left front, pedals in between( all raised off floor about 5 inches attached to main trunk between chair and monitor desk

etc

i do have a point

the main trunk about 10 inches of ground  tee's up about 2 1/12feet from chair

the riser is about 18"

i attached another riser about 10'' above put a swivel at the top to allow a 1 inch square bar(steering column)

to slide though at about 45 degree angle

here comes the point

at the top (closest to me in chair) i have a desk the size of a skate board with the momo wheel attached to front

and monitor (flat screen i drilled holes through for mounting) to the back ( they almost touch

now when i get up i tilt the whole bar (desk monitor wheel) up about 30 to 40 degrees

I'm not a designer and i have mounted the wiring many different ways

need less to say (my point) i may be pinching wires causing intermittently problems

to continue :::

had only momo in started game

jerked on the wheel and the sound froze on one note  repetitively

froze machine

got here back up and running

jerked yanked kicked and slammed wheel to no avail it worked flawlessly

(???Catalina sound card---some of my hardest problems came from audio conflicts)

played in many games worked fine

tried saitek  kind a tricky if u do your own profiles(flight stick banded continuously emulating

a key over and over again) i understand neutral settings

it started messing up so i played with tuggin a wire here and there

thought i had the problem solved

realized xpsp2 update fryd a lot of drivers

anyways this will be my last reply till i do xp64 and ohm out all my wiring

sorry guys it's like a tornado in my head, just to many possibility's

never had a problem i couldn't logically, step by step, or methodically figure out

now I'm even thinking about my terabyte size library(news groups)

this did all start on my old system immediately after loading brother of arms

(i did not load on this computer and the other 10000 people didn't say much

when a usb problem occurs (say hid kb) u can see in device manager

u fix by uninstalling the usb root hub(think thats what u wrote) not by uninstalling

the kb under hid devices

no usb at login screen(xp pro sp1)

reboot with ps2 kb:

blue screen (to quick to read )auto reboot (loooop)

unplug all usb(this has happend before)

  saitek x45 joystick & flightstick combo(magic mouse,magic kb in hid)

  momo racing wheel and pedals (logitech)

  hp printer deskjet 3320

  wireless mouse mx1000 laser (logitech

  ir tracker (edimensional)

reboot(try restore )never in my 40 years have i seen this work

but then i never asked

could not restore( and yes turned off security stuff)

i was however, able to boot to window :finally

in the past i would make a few adjustments

and go through the whole process again

this time when i went to device manager

to uninstall or see what the conflict was

i found some thing new

the mouse and keyboard were both marked

something like

  could not load drivers due to all or part of device

  still in memory

i figure the usb needs some type of termination?

i guess my question is why does this happen?

and

how to prevent in future(even when i drop the keyboard)

and last,

is there an easier way to unload the memory

last time i dropped a speaker on the power strip switch
