  6. well, i started looking thru my add/remove programs and there was an old cisco vpn client in there i no longer use..i uninstalled and: http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:136c15d?service=cable&speed=&os=winXP&via=normal Now, finally, i think the tweaking can begin..Thanks so much!!
  7. Ok, well ive narrowed it down to my pc, and not the router..any ideas what to look for..ICS, Firewall, etc? my pc: http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:2986c48?service=cable&speed=&os=winXP&via=normal Second pc running xp-pro: http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:5bc167f?service=cable&speed=&os=winXP&via=normal
  8. arggg..bout same... download tests running anywhere from 4500-5200...stays around that range. http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:3206f29?service=dsl&speed=&os=winXP&via=normal STILL cannot get the MTU changed..i have no idea what to do next
  9. yes, i tried entering 1500...no changes.. does anyone have any ideas as to why my mtu number will not change from 1372? ive tried disconnecting from router, thought that was the issue, but nothing. Is there a way i can just edit/add directly in registry?
  10. nothing i do seems to change these factors.. MTU = 1372 MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput. MSS = 1332 MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.
  11. 6Mb/768kb - Just signed up for yesterday afternoon I am stil trying to figure out some tweaking, I spoke to comcast and they said it could be a couple of days before i saw any improvement possibly. 12. Yes, ive been trying, but I cant seem to change MTU i think it is. And i didnt see any folders referencing MSS 1332?
