    Help with qwest DSL

    Ive had DSL for the last 6 months or so. it was working fine and now I am only getting like 40 % on my test scores. It some times loads a page and some times it doesnt.

    It drops my connection every 10-15 minutes.

    I am going nuts? Any one help me how to figure this problem out.

    Running DSL MODEM model gt701 action tec

    EDIT: When the qwest guy came out he did some test and told me he assumed there was damage to the line just behind the wall. He told me he could see if he could get it going. Well he did get it going and said I should be fine.

    Could this maybe be the problem?

    It shows like little black dotted lines through the blue dell sign. then when it shows windows xp it shows them 2 but once I get into the the desktop they go away.

    Then when I try to play a game I get this

    ERROR

    Line: 1521

    Check AGP aperature.

    Then some times it will load and the graphics will be all glitchy.

    wait thats a ata100 drive, you dont need a driver for that, don't push F6, just continue, windows should find the drive.

    Every time I try to do it. it says windows can not find a mass storage device and cant not continue.

    I have a Dell Deminsion XPS GEN 2

    I hope I can figure this out.

    Hi,

    I have a computer that I need to format. It has a seagate 120 gb harddrive in it.

    I was told i need to press F6 during windows setup and load a third party driver. The problem is I dont have the SATA harddrive driver. can any one help me find this driver?

    I tried doing it like I would a regular harddrive and windows says there is no mass storage device.

    here is the harddrive i have

    hm... do you have another nic that you can test on your computer to see if the nic is the problem?

    Well Yes and No. I have one its in my other computer. Whats funny is. I hook my other computer up and it runs fine.The game I play my other computer which is a older one gets great ping that I havnt seen for months with my newer computer.

    I am just lost. Maybe a network setting or some thing?

    Will this make a diffrence?

    what kind of problem are you having?

    Well for starters. I am a some what of a gamer. I like to play online games. Which I know alot of things can cause problems with online games. I use to get a great connection on the game. As of the last few months my webpages dont load quick any more. My game that I play skips and lags like crazy. Some times I get droped connection why I am downloading or surfing the net.

    I looked my driver information up on my device manager and the driver version is 1.16.0.0

    Its a SiS 900-Based fast PCI ETHERNET ADAPTER

    Spelled just like that. I have not tried updating it.

    For the past months I been getting crap connections on every thing I do. I called my cable provider(Comcast) and they said its fine on there end.

    Hey everyone,

    Awhile back i got some help from a few users on setting up portfowarding now i need to set it up a bit diffrent.

    First off details: I have a Gigafast E4410 R  I have windows xp sp2 installed. I need to set it up for BitTorrent, I have ABC as my bit torrent. I been to portfowarding.com no help. Problem is i am not connectable when using ABC(bitTorrent).  I hear i need to goto NAT and special Application but i get stuck from there. I have 3 computers on my network. all i did was get the router plug it in click Automaticly detect settings. I did that on all 3 computers. the only time i can be connectable if i remove the router and plug straight to the computer to the modem

    I am told i need to have Ports 6881-6999 open for portforwding on ABC. Please help thanks.

    Im not trying to impress anyone . Just proving that you while you were tryin to flame cj sayin he was using

    some google *hit to alter his speed test , while all along you have know actual knowledge of the cable system and the way it works

    as for getting caught

    modems are registered by thier mac address this is how they are traced back to the owner .

    the firmware that is loaded allows you to change the mac address and serail # of the modem

    and snmp is also disabled.

    I could actully be using your mac address and you get busted for what im doing :)

    Comcast does not require a provisioned modem to have network access and anyone can test this if they have a non registered modem lying around.

    Plug in the other modem and set static dns servers

    some good ones are 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 internet access will be slow but this will be due to the walledgarden config file. no if you could only change your config file . :)

    does having a post count over 100 or any number for that matter just qalify you to snub your nose at other people when you dont know what your talkin about .

    Or is your post count your feeble attempt at an exsistence . Get a life n00b or get informed . Flaming is for idoits And Flaming on a subject you know nothing about just make u look dumber .

    Last post here, been interesting but i dont care for lurking forums with my time .

    umm... basically, running the computer at higher speeds for more performance...

    oh ok cause i dont really mess with System settings. I just turn it on and surf the net play games,i always clear my cache/cookies after i am done. other then that nothing really.
