How to check drivers?

I sent a complaint to comcast and they reccomended updating my drivers. However, I'm not too sure on how to find out what drivers I have, much less update them.

Drivers for NIC?  usu. handled by the manufacturer.

To check drivers: 

-go to device manager (right-click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager)

-under network adapters, right-click NIC, click properties

-go to drivers tab, click driver info

this will show you the driver version and file name

To update:

-from device manager, right-click NIC and choose update driver

I'm not quite sure how updating my sound card and stuff will boost my internet speed, but I'll try it.
