I tested the cablenut file I posted with my own connection and it will even support up to a 15 mbps/2 mb connection, at just over 14300 kbps. So there is definitely a hardwarde problem. The way it's acting I'd almost think there is a 384/256 cap set on your connection. you might want to call your provider and have them check you modem's provisioning and make sure it's set to what level you pay for. In your first post you stated that you used bittorrent to download. Now some ISP's have a limit as to how much you are allowed to download per month. if you reach this limit they cap your modem at a slower speed. I don't know your location so I can't look up the details of your SBC Yahoo DSL provider but i'm betting you were capped for downloading too much. resopalrabotnick Posted January 2, 2006 CID Share Posted January 2, 2006 some isps cap you until you call to complain. then they connect you to their abuse department after the guy answering the phone sees the blinking red entry on your account. they read you the riot act, give you a final warning to cease and desist all activities etc. then uncap you. if you get caught again they kill your connection for good and blacklist you.
