hey is my internet ok??? cause i just did a download test and it came out very high!! i was moving around with my registry, (which i know i shouldn't do) but my download speeds came out a lot faster!!!

Connection is:: 2646 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)

Download Speed is:: 323 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Bottom Line:: 47 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 3.17 second(s)

yea i did back up my registry, i also found out if your using satellite to set ur tcpwindowsize to the lowest possible, to get better connection speed. you should try it, under hkey_local_machine/system/curentcontrol/services/tcpip/parameters then create or edit tcpwindowsize and set it to ur custom computer settings, then restaert ut computer and you will get a bigg change on ur speed, cause it worked on mine :)

Tcpwindow size can be calculated

If you have a latency of 1000 ms

and you want 200 KB/s

and your MTU is 1500 (MTU=MSS+40)

this is what you get

There is another way also...

By tweaking AFD buffers, in that case you use the RWIN value for Defult Recive Window, and leave Tcp Window size at default.
