i will appreciate if you help me tweak my connection. i have already done cablenut but i always get the same results. the bandwidth speed given to me was 350Kbps, download of 30Kbps

im behind a router d-link DI-524 and im the only one using the router

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 141 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 97 kB)

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MSS = 1460

Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 5840

RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits

Unscaled Receive Window = 5840

RWIN is a multiple of MSS

Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 233.6 kbps (29.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 93.44 kbps (11.68 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 53 hops

TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

Hi,

There are a few things you have to bear in mind:

Speed tests performed at your ISP's site will give much better results than tests done on sites in USA.

You can see this from your tracing route test. Latency within your country is less than 100 ms. When the signal got into the international gateway, latency went above 300ms and through the hops in USA, latency went into many hundreds.

You cannot tweak latency from your comp.

What we can try to achieve here is to tweak your comp to its max efficiency.

To gauge performance before and after tweaking, it would be better if you can carry out a speed test on you ISP's site and post your results in this forum.
